Wilshere is not world class, FFS. He has the talent to get there, but he is not there yet. After his injury he needs to get back to the level of the highly talented young midfielders like Kross and Gotze, let alone the Iniesta's of this world.
people seem to be missing the point. The players that we have are not what you would call TOP class players , but they are maybe one rung down from it. And yet , even with these players we find ourselves outplayed. Outsmarted by teams with players that are just above average. The reason they beat / draw with us is because of basic tactical errors. These cannot be laid at the feet of the players alone. Some of Swanseas players were earning 400 quid a week up until a few weeks ago , but they PLAY. And they play to WIN . Not to win some imaginary passing completion contest. They get the ball and they are OFFSKI ! , straight for goal at breakneck speed. Our passing tactics , constant sideways passing , NO movement to find spaces , will be the death of us. What REALLY makes my blood boil is Wenger. Today , he is watching the same terrible football as we all are but , does he even get up off his ass and shout a single thing to the players to get them fired up. ? The ONLY time he gets off his ass now is to have a go at the 4th official. TALK to the players , if they are doing something wrong , give them a rocket ! He seems to be a spectator of failure these days rather than a leader of men . I think he is tactically devoid of ideas.
I do not know the guy personally, but I am going to assume that he is not thick enough to leave one of the best teams in Europe (Dortmund) and join us.
Sorry, these type of players are beyond us at the moment, especially when they are already playing for a better team. We need a powerful player in the midfield. Kevin Strootman is someone we can get and we have been linked with him in the last few days. That's the type of player that we can get and one that would improve our midfield tenfold.

we are without our best CB and worst we are keeping changing back 4 and GKs bcz of injuries .. every time we have a settled back 4 we go without conceding many games... now with all CBs back .. problem solved i remember City had Kompany out for 3-4 games last season they collapsed
United sitting 15 points above us, and to think, our manager gets 7 million a year, just to watch us languish in 10th, and have no hope in hell of challenging, utterly shameful and pathetic. Who can really blame RVP now? Wenger and Gazidis were obviously lying to the man when they told him we have big ambitions for this year, and plan to challenge and move forward from last year.
IF Goetze does leave Dortmund it will be to go to a giant like Real or Bayern or a moneybags club with ambition like PSG or City. He wouldn't come to to club like Arsenal, who can't complete for their title or the CL i'm afraid!!
Why would he come to us? From a footballing perspective, he can join much better teams than us. From a financial perspective, he can join much better teams than us that can also pay him better. There is ZERO appeal in joining Arsenal over United and other top clubs if you're a world class player. This is one of the biggest setbacks in moving backwards and simply challenging for top 4, which we aren't even currently doing at the moment, once you start that regression, attracting top players becomes much harder, and so you're forced to buy lesser quality players, and so the descent of mediocrity begins.
Agree 100%, no world class player with ambition would join a team like Arsenal over United, Madrid, etc, lol, why would he leave a championship team for a team languishing in 10th? And a team who consider 4th place as a trophy? lol.
