I'm thinking Flamini will sit in front of the defence with Arteta and Ramsey playing further up the pitch.
I think tactically Wenger has made the decision to play a team that Napoli will struggle to counter attack against. And a team which can keep position and win it back quickly. And i think with our more pacey players out it's probably quite a good idea.
Pretty much. Napoli are a quality side on the break and we needed both Arteta and Flamini to counter that. Also as mentioned above, at least we have some sort of options on the bench now with Wilshere and Gnarby.
Yeah i feel our bench is at a more respectable level now. Can't wait for Cazorla and Podolski to be back in the mix though.
Ian Wright just made the same wum comment that The Magic Man did the other day One guy goes "Napoli have started there domestic league well but haven't played any of the very top teams yet" Wright: "Yeah, but you could say the same about Arsenal" - No mention of the spuds lol.
Carragher recons Rafa Benitez has a GK coach he takes with him when he manages a club and that was a big part of Reina's good form a few years back and that maybe Reina has missed that in the last couple of years. Might be worth seeing if the guy is interested in a job working with our keepers
Not happy with the team. I'm a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." We've swapped a side that has won many consecutive matches, and we may suffer because of it.
I think the set up for this game is good, as mentioned we need to try and manage Napoli's 'bombs' in counter attacking, so we need some bite in MF
Wenger has come in for critisism for not picking a team with the opposition in mind in the past. Think he is showing a willingness to change the team about and the trust in his players to step in. Although i tend to agree in not changing a working formula, i think rotating the team will help with a small squad and a long season. And think they are clever changes with a clear objective.
I understand what you're saying and tend to agree with it. But also people have argued that Wenger should set up with his opposition in mind instead of just playing his own game and ignoring the threats from the oppo.
Also it might do Wilshere some good to see he needs to keep working hard on his game if he wants to hold down a spot in the first team. Hopefully he will improve with real competition for spots in midfield. Ramsey seemed to improve a lot when he had to work hard to get into the first team.
Ozil with his first goal for Arsenal. Giroud, Ramsey Ozil - how often are the 3 of these going to link up for goals this season...
