I would go with SJW's team and keep Ozil central but have Rosicky on the left side to keep things tight possessionally. Bring Wilshere on as an impact sub.
Gordon Bennett, some serious man love going on between Arsene and Rafa. Im an earlier interview, Arsene showed his appreciation for Rafa. Arsene Wenger is the best coach in the Premier League, according to Rafa Benitez ahead of his Napoli side's Champions League clash with Arsenal this evening. "Wenger is the best coach in the Premier League, then they signed good players and at this point everything is going well for them," Benitez. "I think he's a great manager, great person, someone that knows the league here in England, experience in Europe and always in the top four. "He's doing a great job. Hopefully he can win the Champions League - but another year, not this one."
Still a little early for Rosicky I think. If Wilshere does not make it, it is more likely to be Bendtner, if he is training well. Wouldn't be unlike Wenger to give someone a chance to redeem himself like that. It is a gamble, but a good performance in a game like this and he would be right back. Still, probably wont happen, and I would worry about him defensively. He was doubtful yesterday.
Bendy is the last resort, and that as a CF. He does not belong on the wings and we're better off playing another midfielder there than him. You are right, he would be a liability defensively against their quality of wingers. Thankfully we have Wilshere and Rosicky both available to play there.
yep, and for some stupid reason they have decided to show celtic getting their arses handed to them over our game...
It's a good thing. Do not have to watch their appalling coverage and listen to their terrible commentators.
We should also watch out for Lorenzo Insigne tonight. Watched him in that Euro under 21's tournament and he was a class act, and has according to most reports started the season in fine form. Little play-maker in the Cazorla mould and him alongside Hamsik are our biggest threats. Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Flamini, Arteta, Ramsey, Rosicky, Ozil, Giroud Subs: Fabianski, Vermaelen, Jenkinson, Monreal, Wilshere, Gnabry, Bendtner I think the 3 behind Giroud (Rosicky, Ramsey and Ozil) will swap positions a lot, hopefully confusing their markers. Unfortunately, none of them are going to provide us with any real width, and with them swapping around a lot they might lose their positioning defensively (Ozil and Rosicky that is, because Ramsey is a machine and will cover the whole pitch defensively). Lets hope our lack of running in behind doesn't cost us tonight. On a more positive note we finally have 3 good attacking options on the bench tonight!!! Wilshere - Great back up Gnabry - Played really well against Swansea Bendtner - He might do well, could do well, maybe might do well...
It is a bit odd, one minute we were looking dodgy, with a bench to be scared of, next minute Gnabry puts in a good shift, we get 2 or 3 players back and the bench looks solid, let alone the team on the pitch. And we still have Walcott, Podolski, OX and Cazorla to come back!
Interesting looking team sheet. All three of Arteta, Flamini and Ramsey playing means we have a lot of fight in our midfield, i'm expecting us to win the ball back a lot. It's going to be interesting to see how we play with so many midfield players on the pitch.
