Jayram is just a miserable old git. If we won the league with another unbeaten season he'd be complaining about all the draws!
I have a feeling that we'll beat BvB at home while Olymp will beat MArs thus giving us the win The Mars players put on too much theatrics and the ref bought into them
No you haven't. RVP needed to be rested at some stage. Ramsey should have scored tonight, if he had of, you'd be claiming it was the right choice to rest RVP.
Messi does not get injured and he is a freak that can play week in week out. Van Persie is a player that needs to be rested. Wenger and co work with him every day and they know better then you on when to rest and when not to. They probaly would have asked the man himself.
I just wonder what would have happened if RVP had been given the chances that Gervinho squandered in the first part of the game.
RVP needed to be rested. I would much rather it was in this game, where we are top of the group and a win, whilst desirable, wasn't crucial, rather than in a Premier league game where 3 pts is essential. There's no guarantee that RVP would have scored had he started tonight either.
Arsenal winger Theo Walcott following the Gunners's 0-0 draw with Marseille: "Saturday (the 5-3 win over Chelsea) did take a lot out of us but we know what to expect in the Champions League. They're a very strong team, we found it quite tough out there as well. Of course, we had the home support, we need to be winning our home matches, but yet again we were solid at the back, we managed to keep a clean sheet, it's just our strikers didn't manage to get it in the net this time. But it's a point and all we can do is look forward to the weekend now."
Like I said the Arsenal set up work with the guy everyday and they did what they thought was best with more imformation at hand then you do. Van Persie is still not a player you give 3 starts to in a week. He is so important to us its unreal. So if the club felt that it would be risk then they where right not take it when we had 7 points already and have another home game in the CL next.
Yes, lets overplay the guy then burn him out and then see the consequence of that for the rest of the season. I will have to say it again, but the guys at Arsenal have FAR MORE imformation on this matter then you. They have all the stats and so on. Not to mention the view of the guy himself.
Fair enough. I still think Wenger was right to rest RVP though. A win would have been the icing on the cake tonight. But we're still in great contention for qualification. 4 pts from Marseille is good enough for me
Why does it have to be injuries? He could also easily drop off in his fitness levels and that will be a knock on effect to other things like performance. If those guys at Arsenal felt that not playing him tonight right then thats fine by him.
The game against WBA is more important than the Marseille game. Wenger has said that RVP was tired and needed to be rested after the Chelsea game. Much rather we have a rested and raring to go RVP on Saturday than a fatigued one from playing 3 games in a week. Good call by Wenger
Because we have two games left in the CL group to qualify for the Knockout stages and we are top of the group. Each game in the Prem, we get one go at - and we need maximum points from each game. We may not win the league, but we have to aim as high as we can. As much as we and Wenger would love to see RVP play in every game, he cannot play 50 games in a season, he needs to be rested, so resting him last night was a good pragmatic decision.
