Weve done ok but havent taken the opportunities open to us and havent kept the pressure on a shaky Newcastle team
Good first half of football, some good passing moves and we are controlling the space well both offensively and defensively. A couple of scares but we are on top. Couldn't believe the foul was given to disallow welbecks goal, I thought he did really well. Poor call from the ref. Bellerin has been immense, good defending and great runs, he gets up and down the pitch very quickly! Giroud is having a good game and scored a good goal. Sanchez has been battling away. Happy with that performance. Let's go on and seal the win with an early second half goal now!
we played well the first 25-30 mins, but the last bit we allowed Newcastle back into the game. Need to come flying out of the blocks and get an early goal to kill them off, then control the game. Bellerin has been really impressive. Unlucky to be booked. It was for successive fouling, and he only committed 2! Great going forwards though and his lightning pace is showing. Welbeck may be a little unlucky with his disallowed goal, but he did catch the defenders legs a bit as he went past him. If it had been the other way around, would have been a stonewall penalty. Probably should have had a penalty as well when Sanchez was knocked over. Was clearly inside the box but the ref was too far away to give it and the lino bottled it. Giroud has been fantastic as well, and Debuchy solid at the back.
I think Toon are lucky it's only 1. Hopefully we'll keep up this pressure in the second half and kill them off. I don't want to see us sitting back and inviting pressure.
