You have to be happy with the officials ? I don’t think Arteta will complain when a decision suits him... just like the rest of you he wants it both ways.
3-1. Haaland. Game over. They’ve deserved it this half. Just not got going at all and made all kinds of sloppy errors.
They're just too good. They can dick around for half a season and then start playing properly and still win the league. Second place we need to be aiming for.
We need to try and win the Europa too. Need to improve our European trophy haul. Although based on our last 3 performances, I don’t see us beating anyone at the moment.
Xhaka, White, Zinchenko and Martinelli been horribly off form for a month or so now. Nketiah has never been good enough to be a trophy winning striker. Useful for the squad but against the top defenders he doesn't do much. Partey, ESR and Jesus out. Going to be tough to get some belief back again. Urgh. Trossard needs to start at the very least.
Unfortunately, we still lack maturity in key moments and it seemed like the pressure got to us in the second half. Our defence were jittery and Nketiah, as well as he's played in Jesus' absence, missed chances that he really should be putting away. It's annoying because that first half performance was very encouraging, but that second half performance was deflating. However, City have won 4 of the last 5 leagues for a reason. Their squad depth is absolutely unreal. I just hope our season doesn't get totally derailed now because we still have a lot to play for.
My worry is not about the points dropped, it’s about the psychological effect this can have on our players and the worrying trend of the last 3-4 games.
Suddenly that match against Villa becomes massive. It’s now a must win as even a draw will mean 5 matches without a win and a slump not a blip. Not sure how any manager even one as upbeat as Arteta can prevent it from being psychologically damaging.
Sadly in the last 3 matches both Saliba and Gabriel have looked very uncomfortable. When teams come at us the defence looks very shaky. Trossard needs a run in the team to see if he can improve the attack. The goals need to come from somewhere.
