Huge, Huge win for us - puts us in a great position now to go on an win the league. And to think we won this game and comfortably handled Citey without Sanchez, Santi or Coq
That's the blueprint in the big games, and the blueprint to defeating Barca, we have now done it to Munich, and City, Barca next.
Good result. The subs made us considerably weaker. I thought we were superb in the first half.. mediocre in the second. Still we have to be favourites for the league now.
And everyone who questions Ozil's commitment, did you see how disappointed he was to come off? That's what you call a fighter and someone highly committed.
And he put in a serious defensive shift today, dropping deep to help close off the space constantly and then creating both goals. Complete performance from him. Ozil is on fire. Ever since he returned from his injury last season he has been incredible and seems to get better and better.
Jeez, don't think I've heard Mesut speak before... he's got a bizarrely deep voice! I was expecting a high pitched squeek.
Great result. My ratings: Cech 9 Bellerin 8 Merts 9 Kos 8 Nacho 8 Flam 8 (great job on Silva) Ramsey 7 Ozil 9 Motm Joel 8 (really impressed with his running back to defend) Theo 9 Giroud 8 Gibbs 4 Ox 2 (as per normal) Chambers 6 Brilliant.
Football's a funny game, Cazorla's injury could turn into a massive blow for him if Ramsey does cement the position, but knowing our injury situation, you know you always will get into this side.
We were really good tonight. All over the pitch we battled hard and controlled the game really well. That Toure goal was a bit of a freak, apart from that, we had City where we wanted them all night.
Big win, great performance in the first half, the league is well and truly there for us to take which I never in a million years thought was possible under this manager.
My only gripe would be that sometimes we have to be a bit more dirty, there were a few times I thought we could have fouled city players, Gibbs in particular when he just let Navas run and run, he should have taken him out. Sometimes cynical fouls help the cause.
Well done to you guys!! A season or two ago, City and United would have either drawn or beaten you. Glad you have got your confidence back to beat both Manchester teams this season. So only loss to a team in last season's top 6 being to Chelsea. I think you can cope with that provided you boss the rest and don't drop silly points to mid and lower PL teams. Winning the PL would be a magnificent way for Wenger to bring his career at the Emirates to a close if that is his plan. If the PL title is won, it could spur him to really take the CL seriously next time round as I really can't see you or anyone else beating Barca this season, Bayern apart.
As Stoke beat City 2-0 and you're playing better than them I thought you'd get a good three goal win, turned out to be closer than I thought, still satisfying for you though.
