I've been to the cinema with Mrs C tonight so I didn't hear the score until I got into the car.Listening to the report on 5Live we were piss poor but the only thing that matters to me is the result.
Just seen the game on match choice, we were really dire. A more accomplished side would have punished us. We were really lethargic.
I agree on the second half and how we should have dealt with the game having gone 2-0 up, but it was a pretty good first half, we had 12 chances with six on target in the first half, scoring two of them. Slightly more than just Theo's one on one! Overall not a good performance though, the second half was really dire. Three points in the bag though as you say, take them and run!v
Poor performances all over the pitch. Walcott was my main gripe (again) for his laziness/lack of sharpness. He attempted 9 passes all match, fecked up a third of them and had less touches of the ball the OG who played 50 minutes less. I was chewed out a while back for saying he's similar to Podolski in that he's a luxury player who'll get goals but might not contribute so much elsewhere but he did my argument no problems last night. I'm hoping most of this is because he's still finding his form again after a long spell out but something needs to change. He's also the singularly most frustrating player if given more than 2 seconds to think about anything! Not sure what the problem is really. Wonder if maybe it's because he's not 100% sure on what his position is but then surely that's down to Arsene to amend. Meh, 3 points is 3 points. I was hoping we'd come out all guns blazing after the game that didn't happen on the weekend but hopefully it was just a case of tired legs. Impressed with Mahrez (spl?) though his finishing was a bit ****e.
I have to say - well played Leicester, they looked very good, came with a very good game plan and their attacking players caused us a lot of problems. To me Walcott still looks short of fitness and is coming back slowly, though is looking better every game, he gets into the right positions, causes problems to the opposition defence, and soon I'd imagine will be tracking back like he used to do. What worries me more is the lack of composure we are showing in the middle of the park and our seeming inability in the last 2 games to keep hold of the ball. (even though we've had the likes of Cazorla, Ramsey, Ozil ect) on the pitch who are usually very good on the ball.
Walcott didn't get much service to be fair. I thought he's movement was decent. But he always a takes a while to get back to match sharpness. 3 goals in 3 games and he's not even fully fit yet.
