We need Giroud back so we can play a good old 4-4-2 formation. I predict great things once the 'unit' returns
Lets hope the pool and Swansea dont win their games or this time tomorrow we will be down to eighth .
If only we could combine Arteta and Flamini's beat traits. Diaby would do wonders but he's currently with the U21s Still thinking we should go for Morgan S. from Soton I'm January
Such a shame as he was great for us at the start of last season, whereas now, like you've indicated, he's been invisible except for the needless fouls/yellows. One of the things I dislike about Arteta as well, which is worrying, how he'll find himself out of position and give away a needless foul/get a yellow. But at least Arteta distributes the ball well, while Flamini isn't doing anything...
Age has sadly caught up to both Arteta and Flamini. They are good squad options but we should be looking for a better starter. Still I can't really blame him for the dropped points today. I still don't know how a foul wasn't called for the first goal and Mert should have attacked the ball on the second goal
Why is it that our opponent's - no matter who they are; Leicester, Hull or Man City- only need one or two chances to punish us but we always seem to need 5 or 6? We had 25 shots today, only 9 were in target. We need to kill teams off because by wasting all those chances, it gives teams optimism.
Nice to meet you, January. I don't think Schneiderlin would drop down to a team below his standards though. Go for Cattermole instead.
Just watched the highlights. Absolutely scandalous decision from the ref not to award a free kick against Diame for Hull's first goal. And for their second, for those complaining about our lack of defensive options, it was our established CB Mertesacker who was at fault. Sanchez' goal was world class, he is a superb signing by Wenger. As is Welbeck, a brilliant finish at the death. Overall I thought we were very unlucky not to come away with all the points. Cazorla, Gibbs, Monreal could all have scored today. Frustrating result but some really good individual performances in attack.
I thought you'd just made a thread saying you'll delete posts designed to antagonise others? Anyway, if we'd played to the whistle, Mert would have tackled Diame and they wouldn't have scored, poor discipline from all involved.
I'm not antagonising anybody. I'm saying that for all the complaints about our defensive options, it was our only established CB who made the mistakes for arguably both of Hull's goals.
Okay. Per's having a bad season in all fairness, if we had more defenders, i'd consider dropping him. Come January, i'd recall The Corporal to give cover for Debuchy, and play Chambers next to Koscielny, gives us a very mobile defence.
Another week, another disappointment. I can count on one hand the number of solid performances we've produced this season. We should not be celebrating a draw against Hull City at home. Gotta start picking up wins now, only 2 from 8. Not good enough.
I agree with that. How long is Jenkinson's loan and can we recall him in Jan ? Personally I think Chambers makes a fine CB and I'd like to see him next to Koscielny. The only thing that does worry me slightly about Chambers though is that he has a tendency to dive in and picks up a lot of yellows. We can't be affording that in the box. Mert is usually spot on with his positioning and timing, which makes up for his lack of pace, but so far this season he's looked out of sorts and a yard behind the play.
These ARE the wins you should be picking up. if you cant get THESE points in the bag , at home , you got no chance.
