Well put and I agree with all you say. It was a great game - now that it is over! Heart rate challenged badly during it - and both teams contributed. I don't know about the pundits faces but mine must have been a picture when Curtis scored and when Gibbs cleared off the line- would we have been able to comeback from 3-0 down? Now that would have been a hell of a match. The general consensus can be a bit patronising if we just left it at "Hull played their part". You gave us a massive scare which, this time, we were able to turn into a much needed kick up the arse. Where we go from here is going to be interesting. Where Hull go, proudly, is into Europe. I sincerely wish you well in that adventure and hope you reach another final next May. Good luck.
When we went 2-0 down I said to my missus that I may as well turn the TV off as we were never going to come back.I was in total despair. Her response was " It's only a game of football"
Part of the reason I often comment on whether certain incidents are fouls or not is that many people are very out-of-date or simply wrong about what the Laws say: so its not surprising that they disagree on interpretation. The first point above is simply untrue. Tackles from behind are not even mentioned in the laws as a special case, never mind there being such a specific ruling. On the second point the interpretation section of the Laws says: "the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement" which is almost the opposite of the claim above. I really think that the lack of clarity in the Laws is contributing to the poor refereeing displays and the players' frustration with rulings. I'm sorry if this is not the right place to be discussing this, or if you think my views are partisan because I support Spurs, but there were so many contentious decisions in Saturday's match I thought it was worth a debate.
The laws are very clear. The problem is not in the rules which I think are elegantly simple. The problem is that most people don't understand them and that includes a lot of referees, players and fans, and particularly in England. I'm not going to rant because most people on here have heard it before, but referees in England are the absolute worst in the world. They referee to create a spectacle, not to be fair.
Oh yeah ,but you try talking when Emmerdale is on ....... women . Sometimes id rather have the extra rib .
Interesting fact, this fa cup win makes us the second most successful team in the fa cup in the last ten years with only Chelsea's four wins beating our two.
It's a one off, made by Ideal Standard(a heating/bathroom maufacturers who are one of our stand sponsors), to auction for a local charity.
The time has flown by! I've now out of London again, I don't miss London, but what I do miss was the Arsenal experience. It was one of the greatest days of my life last week, with the whole gooners family celebrating and cheering together at Wembley, it's like a drug!
I know mate, it wasn't a dig at the club. Just thought it was funny is all Personally, I thought this would be a more apt toilet pic of Bruce: please log in to view this image
