arsenal do look good. it is almost as if they are always a fraction away from being brilliant and then once or twice it clicks in gear and they open up teams. i think there is more to come from Arsenal too.

And that's why I feel we will miss out on the big trophies this season. In big games, you need a clinical forward and we do not have it. If Walcott was still fit, you could have seen him nicking a goal or two in those games, but right now I fear for us against the likes of Chelsea,Bayern and Man City. Got to hope that the defence holds up.

but Arsenal have the players to score in big games already. i think it is the opposite for Arsenal in big games. They need to be better defensively and they are this year. there is no reason why the team that played today cant beat Chelsea and manchester city if Arsenal defend well.

we always do better against the better teams.

the **** teams go all out defence on us, and any team struggles to break a solid defence down. the fact that we do shows our quality.
better teams actually try and score, and this gives us space when we attack and we can pull them apart at times: spurs in the FA cup.

I think so! This guy doesn't loose the ball, set's up players well....perfect for all our midfielders.

If it's true that we can get Berbatov at the price that was being rumoured, then I find it hard to see what we have to lose.

My big fear with Berbatov is that he will slow down our game too much. He takes far too long on the ball and we are at our best when we up the tempo and start pinging those passes around.

Yep and that was our problem Saturday. Too slow. I don't think we even upped our tempo as some suggested but rather Fulham ran out of gas defending. Too many below par performances and some of our passing was lazy at best (p*ss poor in reality). I was getting frustrated at the team, frustrated at the mutterings around me (which don't help the squad's anxiety I'm sure) and frustrated by our lack of a plan B on the bench. Honestly had Cazorla not scored right after Koscielny missed the target in that bundle I probably would've exploded. The fat guy next to me having his chair collapse beneath him was the icing on the cake!

Still, as SJW said it's a positive (in a way) that we're winning when being so below par. I'd still not object to us stringing 10-20 games of brilliance back to back...

2-0, we played fast enough :). We have always, for as long as I remember, started conservatively and slowly ratcheted up the pace of our play until we grind teams down. If we started at 100miles an hour, we would not play our way into a game and we would make too many mistakes.

You need to wait for the other side to start to get tired and wear them down. They need to chase the ball for a while.

I agree in part but our steady start only served to give Fulham confidence. They came into the game very fragile and were ripe for the taking. Once we scored I was confident we'd be comfortable but, like with Villa, we still allowed them a glorious opportunity with Bent which was wholly avoidable (granted we'd have missed out of his hilarious miss which was well worth watching). Hopefully these are things which can be addressed though and it's great that we're still winning whilst we doing this.

Personally I think Wenger has struck a good balance this season between attack and defence. We no longer hammer teams, but we no longer concede dodgy goals either or throw away two or three goal leads.
