We need to smash them - just in case City draw today. The GD is only 1 right now.
Are you joking??? If they draw I'm not sure they'd have much chance of improving their GD at the same time...

It's the complete opposite. We don't need to smash them at all. There's no literal reason to need to win big. The only way we win the league is if City draw and we win. And if that happens, scorelines are irrelevant, the league is ours.

If city draw, their GD stays the same

There's only one way to win the league and that's with an Arsenal win and a City draw

Our GD would be better as a result of that scenario

The bonus is we know how we can improve the starting XI. If we didn't have any obvious weak link it would be depressing. But at least we know easily what we need for next season. If we don't get those reinforcements I'll be pissed off though.

FT. 2-1.

Been gutted since the FT whistle even though I knew there was like 1% chance of West Ham helping us.

Most wins we’ve ever had in a PL season, highest points tally since 2003/04, and most goals scored in a season since the 1950s.

The fact we were so tantalisingly close to a league title yet fell short is gut wrenching, but I am proud of how far we’ve come despite no trophies this season. And we know the monster we are up against in this league. A monster who probably haven’t been playing by the rules if we’re being honest. Anywho.

After Emery was sacked, I never thought we’d ever compete for the league again. I thought we were done as a top club competing at the top. But that belief has been brought back over the last two years.

I do believe we need to win something tangible soon because this crop of players are too good to keep going trophyless, but ultimately, we have a superb platform to now build from and add more quality to the starting 11 and to the bench.

The speeches from Odegaard and Arteta post-game, as well as the comments from Edu and Josh Kroenke pre-game, show to me that they’re not satisfied with just being competitive - they want to win and they have the drive to help us get there.

I’m under no illusions that it will be tough next season too because every team will be looking to improve, but we’re in a fantastic position.

I’m already looking ahead to next season.

As always, COYG!
