Next round draws have been made. Arsenal vs Reading. - Pretty damn good draw! Made even better by the fact United have been drawn against Chelsea.
Just got back from the game, that was a nice and enjoyable watch. Great score, but Coventry are one of the worst teams to have ever visited the Emirates, happy that Giroud finally got off the mark.
Just saw the highlights. Walcott sure is looking like Henry... at least in terms of finishing and pace.
Walcott's goals were henry style, especially the second one, running from midfield all the way to goal and slotting it in through the angle.
Didn't manage to catch the game as I was working but from the highlights my thoughts are: - Giroud's chipped finish was nicely composed - His penalty wasn't terrible, it didn't bobble and it was on target. Sometimes you just have to credit the keeper - I believe Giroud assisted the Arshavin goal? If so, it was a nice lay off - Walcott's finishing is getting quite impressive and he's certainly not doing any harm to his chances of being played as a striker - Gnabry looks like one to watch - Nice to see Frimpong back
The thing about the Giroud penalty was that he had to wait a while to take it because a couple of twats ran onto the pitch and the stewards took their time in removing them. That would not have helped Giroud.
Reading away is not a bad draw, but this is a cup, you never know what type of game you'll get away from home in a cup competition, would've preferred to draw them at home.
If we put out our PL/CL 11, we should comfortably beat them. If we use today's side (i know they played well), things won't be so easy, even if the midget russian meerkat seems happy in his proper CAM role.
Hopefully Wilshere is back by then. Will add extra strength to that midfield. Also we could even have Rosicky and Sagna in the that side too. Angha, I thought was decent today, but his crossing was pants.
We won't be playing our PL 11, we never do that, plus that Capitol One Cup game comes right before we play United at Old Trafford, and Shalke away in the Champions League, so there's no chance in hell Wenger will put the first 11 out for this game before two huge games like those, and I would fully support him in that. Some of the players who played today will also most likely not feature, I don't think Walcott or Giroud will start in the next cup game, as by then they'd be playing more than they have been now.
Actually in the world of football midgets Arshavin is a giant. Arshavin is 172 cm. Messi - 169. Paul Scholes and Tevez are 168 cm. Cazorla - 165 cm.
From what i was hearing on the audio, Gnabry made a real impression today. Ox gave the ball away too many times, Gnabry beat the same defenders for fun. OK, they were worn out, but even so, the boy has talent.
Well Wenger does like small, technically gifted players. I didn't realise Cazorla was smaller than Arshavin though.
One of those players who is always on the ball because he knows where to go to find it. Like Wilshere, but this kid looks more athlete. Huge talent. Because we have a big squad these days, he was unlucky not to start.
He's german too, which is always a bonus. Especially with big Per and Poldi playing so well at the moment. Wenger weià es am besten
After Arshavin's performance, will Wenger give him a chance in that role in order to rest and rotate Cazorla?
You have to laugh, anybody could have told Wenger that years ago . . it does make you wonder why he persists playing people out of position for so long. Arshavin revival maybe . . . ?
