Not a great performance today but I think Atkinson certainly helped them to the win. I think our best player was Gibbs Worst was Kos. Chelseas best was Atkinson
Giroud should have equalized, Per shouldn't have been dropped, Chavski got lucky (refree hth did some Chav scum not get red carded), Theo is **** can't believe some idiots thought he should start (he doe still deserve 100k). Overall not the best performance, but I think we should still challenge
We created better chances than chelsea and moved the ball well when we had it - we just didn't get in there and win the ball, didn't control the midfield as we have in all our previous games - Diaby better only have a knock!!! Giroud and Podolski both had good efforts saved and missed a couple more, so upfront im not worried. At the back we didn't look as solid as we have done. It's not due to Kosc comming back as overall we looked good at the back against City. We obviously still need to do some work on defending set pieces. You'll notice we defend better when Giroud is there rather than Podolski as well - no-one can beat him in the air, he's very strong.
Im not gonna go blaming the ref for our defeat. We had enough of the ball , and enough chances. Concede 2 STUPID free kicks ( Thanks Verm , i shall now call you mr clatter ) . Im sure Mannone misread the second goal and thought it was going wide. Either way, Bad day at black rock .
Oh and btw Chelsea and United fans can never moan about refree decisions after that complete garbage performance by Akintson, though we need to work on set-pieces during training.
