Its easy to say that he didnt know they were gonna score form their free kicks . That is true but.......... If they dont GET a free kick they got no chance of scoring from it have they. You have to do EVERYTHING possible to minimise the opportunities that the other team get. His tackles seemed needlessly rash today. Then he hold up his hands and says " what ? " THis is a dissapointing developement for Vermaelen . He doesnt have to even make those challenges , as someone has already said , Arteta wins the ball without conceding sh1t . Verm has just got lazy and clatters people. You cant do that these days .
Against the mighty Reading, he's good but do you think he's Arsenal quality, and be honest would you have been happy if AW signed him? 1-1 City
Yes, i would be delighted if Wenger signed him. Each time i've seen him play, he's given opponents nightmares with his movement and finishing.
It's Southampton. Not reading. I'm going on last season and other times this season. he hounded ManUre's defence, Fellaini got all the credit that day though. He couldn't be worse than Giroud anyway.
Giroud played well, though I was disappointed he didn't score. Don't see where all the hate is coming from he was one of our better players.
mmm i think that might be pushing it a bit, im waiting for him to set a few nets alight with the speed of his goals. (plural ) Roy of the Rovers style.
He was pants. It's all well and good having good movement, but if you don't utilise that ability, then there's no point having it.
I think it's safe to say we just had an off day. Or "one of those days." Which leads me to this; Also, Nuri Sahin has just scored his 3rd goal this week. We really messed that one up.
Just got back home from the game, that was quite a disappointment. I don't think we have much to complain about, Chelsea were the better team, on the other hand, our defence was all over the place, our attack was quite toothless for the majority of the game, we lacked fluidity, and to cap it off, we were so slow on our play. The 2 goals we gave away were weak, but who's fault is that? We only have ourselves to blame for weak goals, especially the second one, Arteta needlessly gave the ball away when he chose to do the harder pass, than the easier simple one, and that basically started the chain of events to the second goal. In the grand scheme of things though, we need to be realistic, today's game was disappointing, but our realistic ambition for the league is to consolidate our top 4 position, with 3rd place being the highest we can achieve, so overall today's loss won't really dent our top 4 hopes, but as far as winning the league goes, I never believed we had a chance at winning that. Our squad still lacks 1-2 players that can take us to that next level, which is sadly the same line we've been repeating for the past 8 years, until we have an adequate squad, it will remain this way. Anyways, on to the next game now.
Sahin would've been a very good addition to our squad, but alas, that's our own loss, and will be the reason why we only fight for top 4 spots this season, rather than the actual championship.
