Arteta should not leave, he seems to have a very positive influence on our dressing room, can seem him becoming a coach at Arsenal.
He is working on his coaching badges so when he retires I can defo see him in a coaching role. As much as I love Henry Arteta is a far more sensible candidate to be a future manager. Our best captain since Viera/Henry IMO.
Hmm I don't know about your last sentence. He seems to be a fan favourite and appears to have a calming influence, but on the pitch, he has never struck me as a particularly effective leader. If I wanted someone to motivate the team when faced with adversity, he wouldn't be the one I would go to. I'm happy for him to be a coach at Arsenal and he's been a decent enough player for us but as a captain, I have to say I've not been that impressed with him.
Arteta did a team talk before the final showing how important the fa cup is to the club. Seeing how well everyone in the team performed, I like to think Arteta's words contributed at least a little to the players performance on the pitch.
This one will be a big match for so many reasons. If we can get a win over Chelsea then this would be a great confidence booster for the team and the gaffer. Guaranteed, Maureen will be going all out to win this one as he knows how dangerous Arsenal is now.
If reports are to be true Arsenals defence will have to cope with Costa, Falcao, Greizmann and Hazard.
Gee Willykers! I sure hope Chelsea win this game so we can be the Reigning Community Shield Champions!!
Your season is over if you lose, confidence knocked, Arsenal showing their superiority. It could be a hard year for you
Indeed. There is no way back from the indignation of losing to probably the second or third best team in the country in a Charity sponsored friendly. Too crushing....just.....too crushing.... please log in to view this image
hehe Oh we'll most likely win. Your manager is awestruck by our managers brilliance Just saying, I really am not all that fussed by the CS. It makes money for charity I guess so thats a good thing
You might not be bothered but your manager will be taking it Very seriously as will ours. Both will want the psycological edge.
There is no psycological edge, it is a friendly between two teams who may not meet again for another three months
Funny to see a Chelsea fan trying to take the piss out of this trophy, when his own manager counts the community shield in the haul of trophies he has won. "In the Premier League how many won the Premier League twice or more than twice? Mr Wenger (Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger) and myself. "How many won every competition in this country? Community Shield, Capital Cup, Carling Cup, FA Cup, Premier League? How many? "You go to Europe, how many won seven league titles? How many won two Champions Leagues? Ancelotti won three. Van Gaal, two. And Pep (Guardiola, the Bayern Munichboss), two. "I'm not content with that, but you are too much worried about myself. "What makes me feel special is that I am above all of this. You think I care about some bull**** I read? Do you think I care? I don't care. I don't care." http://www.eurosport.com/football/p...-of-this-i-am-the-best_sto4639763/story.shtml
Last season our performance against Man City in this game gave us some much needed confidence and we did pretty well against the bigger team this season, especially compared to previous seasons. A first win against Chelsea in gods know how long will do our confidence a world of good.
please log in to view this image It aint a trophy damn it. Its a 1 match friendly for charity for which the winner is presented with a giant 50p.
Will do. I am not Jose. He has his own opinion....and most of that is probably for the cameras. I know you are trying to lend importance to it because you have won it recently and are trying to bolster your haul, which is understandable I guess.
