Good result. Annoyed Xhaka is going to miss some key games. Means we are going to have to play Ramsey who has been awful for the last 12 months or so. With Carzorla out Wilshere would have been a useful player for us.
Surely Coq comes in for Xhaka. Agree about Ramsey, prefer Ox or Perez out wide. Why has Gabriel been playing RB if Bellerin is fit ?
I expect he'll pair Coquelin with Ramsey in the middle with Xhaka out. Perez deserves more games for sure. Bellerin has only been back in training for a couple of days. Should be fully fit for the next match though.
Coq and Ramsey in the middle for now. I'd also like to see Perez getting some starts. He's really impressed when he's been in the team.
These games ain't good for the old heart I can tell you that. Interesting stat I read after the game. Despite Danny C*cknose Murphy claiming Xhaka is a dangerous hatchet man he's apparently attempted 94 tackles this season, been given 10 fouls of which 2 were yellow and two were red. Now, taking into account his first red was a joke of the highest order that's not too horrific. I still don't think it was a red yesterday either but can accept that people will see it differently. The media are portraying him as a clumsy/vicious player and other players and refs will be affected by it. I'm certainly not saying he doesn't need to take a look at himself and stay on his feet more, but let's not pretend he's a monster. It's hugely frustrating too as I thought he was looking really decent in the game. Also leaves us pretty f*cked centrally for the next few matches..
I actually like the fact Xhaka lives on the edge a bit. He just needs to be a bit more calculated. Look at Vieira, Keane etc.. that edge is often an advantage.
The media bias against arsenal is so tiresome now. Two weeks ago a game refereed by Moss descended into farce and he was ripped into by everyone. This week, like so many other weeks, we see players swinging elbows into Arsenal players heads with total impunity and the pundits and commentators, seem to be perfectly OK with it. Who can forget the elbow to Walcott's face. I watch a lot of games and I just don't see players (with the exception of Andy Carroll, who seems to have a lifetime pass) swinging elbows the way they do against Arsenal. It is almost as if they know they can get away with it. If Giroud up the other end even touches a defender he is blown for a foul. He has players hanging off him, his shirt practically pulled off, and there is no call. The game was a farce on Sunday, there is no other word for it. The fact that they are now trying to deflect by focusing on Wenger pushing away Anthony Taylor, is beyond ridiculous.
What's the bets Wenger gets some kind of unpresedented ban? (I'm guessing 6 games or something ridiculous like that)
Did I miss something Wenger did? I've heard two journalists now describing it as assaulting an official and mentioning a possible 12 game ban.. All I saw was the gentle prod on the 4th official's chest
A 12 game ban? Ffs, Suarez got less than that for ****ing biting someone. Wenger was an idiot though, should probably get a three game ban.
Wenger was stupid to lose his cool but did anyone else have a little chuckle as the Arsenal security got in between Wenger and the official like Wenger was Mafia or something so he could keep watching the game?
4 is a bit harsh in my opinion. All he did was push the 4th official's arm away when he tried to push him down the tunnel. Should have chinned the ****er
