I think you're right, actually. I've always seen him running out wide, but I haven't watched too many full games from him.
As for why Sanchez would join Juventus, while it would be a slightly less rated league, he'd get paid more and win things.

He'd win serie A yes, but that's it. He could do that at PSG and be paid even more. And he'd also win far more things at Bayern. I dunno... Sanchez is one of the best players in the world. Moving to Juve would be bizarre. PSG, United, City, Chelsea, Real and Bayern would surely all put in offers...

I doubt you'd accept an offer from Chelsea, Utd or City when there are others on the table.
Would PSG be any improvement on Juventus? He might just prefer Italy.
Real and Bayern? Not sure they need him. They've got a lot of options there and are linked with other younger ones, too.

If Sanchez is going, you have to ensure it is not to a PL rival.

Hopefully we have learned after the RVP debacle.

I'm not saying this to WUM, but allowing Sanchez and Ozil to run their contracts down suggests that you haven't.
That was one of the big reasons he ended up calling the shots and going to Old Trafford.
That you've allowed your two star players to replicate that situation is insane.

To be fair, they are trying to renegotiate with them and have been since they both had around 18 months left on their contracts. But the longer it goes on, the more the ball is in their court. Hoping they both stay obviously, but the signs look ominous.

Letting a player get below two years is suicide now, unless you intend to let them go at the end of it.
Their value drops and they have far more power and options available.
The deals should've been done last season or they should've been replaced in the summer.

The fact that our two star players are holding out on a new contract shows that they have lost belief in Wenger. He originally brought them in but their expectations haven't been met. If we won the league or got close, I have no doubt they would have signed. Being comfortable only gets you so far with elite players.

Wasn't Ozil on record as saying he would only commit if Wenger committed?

I get what you're saying but he in particular strikes me as the type of player who is quite happy 'being comfortable', which is why Real were happy to let him go in the first place.

Again... it's Ozil... so don't care if he goes. The only player we'd struggle to replace is Sanchez and after that maybe, possibly Bellerin but he's not exactly been great this year. Everyone else you could replace like for like easily enough.

I didn't watch the game but loads of people are commenting on BBC that Barca was cheating all over the place and the ref was ****e. But seriously how do they let a 4 goal lead slip...

Barca got very lucky with the ref.

We had the opposite luck - the ref gave us absolutely nothing.

I think to pull back a 4 goal lead in this comp you need all the luck you can get.

Barca may have had some luck but you don't get 6 against PSG with luck alone.

True. But they had a lot of crucial decisions that went in their favour, whereas we had crucial decisions go against us.

If we'd been awarded a pen for the foul on Walcott, then going in 2-0 up at HT and had the ****e house decision to send Kos off not happened, then we had the momentum in that game to go on and do it.

All academic now though and in the end we were annilihated

Bottom line... the ref didn't make Neymar score that free kick. The ref didn't make PSG miss all those chances. The ref was about 7/10 in terms of performance. He made some poor decisions but ultimately they went both ways.

PSG were the makers of their own downfall. To concede 6 goals is unacceptable, especially 3 in the last 10 minutes.

Apparently Ter Stegen completed more passes than any PSG player! <laugh>
If the ref was bad, then what were they?
Rabiot was particularly poor. Great in the first leg and absolutely dire in the return.

Knowing our luck we'll probably get their manager as Wenger's replacement!

But seriously players nowadays need to get some sort of punishment for playing so rubbish. They get huge amounts of money to perform at a high level regularly. All of our players are millionaires yet got battered by Bayern three times in a row for 5-1. Where is the accountability? We all blame the manager but the players need to face some punishment? All players should be on performance related pay! Bunch of lazy feckers.
