you see the key word there. WAS ... see it? ............WAS useless. Useless= called useless NOT useless = praised yes but lots of people were NOT crucifying Giroud and have now changed their tunes. Its not rocket science , if you play well you will get praise . If you start to play CONSISTENTLY bad you will get slated. Nothing YOU or i can do will change that . Its a fact .
Robben is one of the best players playing in the best team in the world right now. Some people want to try and find reasons to slate Wenger as they always do, but sometimes you just have to give credit to the opposition. It was always going to be a massive ask to get a result tonight.
By the way the person who was worrying this will take too much out of us for Sunderland on the weekend. I think we will be ok. Podolski and giroud didn't play and oxo and Cazorla didn't play full games, same with rosicky. So I think we will play a team who are not tired, think we will probably make a change or two.
Good thing I de-activated my seat for this game, I already said the best we could hope for in this game was nil-nil.... I guess despite AW's big talk, it is at this stage of the season for the past 7 or so years that our season begins to unravel. I just hope we can hold it together in the league and still finish in top 4.... It is obvious why we fall down at this stage of the season every season, injuries or a lack of quality in the team...We say Ibra's goals yesterday for PSG, do we have anyone in our team capable of doing that? This tie was lost when we finished 2nd in our group.... we were in a commanding position and all we needed was a point in Naples, as usual AW managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I'm not saying Wenger is totally devoid of blame for this loss, but you're barking up the wrong tree. Bayern's second choice LB is Contento ffs, Monreal is good enough as back up.
Yeah ill give a massive amount of credit to robben for Ozil taking that penalty like it was a training session . And a massive amount to Wenger , im sure he will be consoling the lad for that miss. Pity we cant borrow Fergies hairdryer. But he will get kind words and his usual pay im sure . tell us about that mental strength again Arsene. better still , try and explain it to Ozil .
Wenger said he prefers players to take a proper run up for a penalty and not take little dinky penalties, but that it's ozil style and if that's how he feels comfortable taking a penalty that's what he has to do. Pirlo does it, I've seen messi do it, van Persia, Arteta, loads of players. Not saying whether it's the right way or not, but I do agree you need to take it how your comfortable taking it. People miss penalties, it happens, you can't be too annoyed about it. Think the real thing on that is that no one else was stepping up, that's more of a reason for concern for me!
i ll tell you what really pi$$es me off . How can one team waste so many free kicks . We must be the only team in the world that a free kick is a danger TO US . we get NOTHING from them ever. If anything the opposition relishes our free kicks because it usually ends up with the ball in our net 20 seconds later . someone seriously needs their arse kicked.
Dortmund finished top of the table though, not that it matters as being dumped out means the club will not have an opportunity to fleece us the pundits. Apparently the ticket cost for Bayern fans was 34Euros....
"Ozil took the penalty but - just as when he missed against Marseille in the group stage - the run-up was hesitant and the spot-kick feeble, allowing Neuer, his childhood friend, to thrust up a hand to save. " mental strength personified. You know you cant just keep talking about mental strength . You have to BE it , DO it , SHOW it . otherwise its just more hot air .
Such a bunch of moany bastards lol, I enjoyed the game, it was exciting, a proper cl tie against the best of he best. Disappointed it finished at 2-0 and that we couldn't hold on to just the one goal behind after the red, but you lot sound so depressed, do you even enjoy watching us play?
