I hear you I really do mate, perhaps it's frustration speaking. I'm just angry that the priorities of the board seem to come before the fans who for the vast majority are incredibly loyal and deserve something more that. A top four every year. It just feels like Groundhog Day, year in year out it's fourth spot for the champions league, great, worthy goal but we never get close to winning it
Also, how many guys on here actually felt nervous before today's game? For the first time ever I did not feel any nerves ahead of a big European game. Probably cause my expectations was so low and therefore had no reason to be nervous, as what happened was exactly what I predicted.
funnily for once in my life I put up a prediction on the other link and sadly I called it exactly right, I wish I was wrong!
I'm actually pretty chilled after this loss, that never normally happens, the poor coverage pissed me off more than the ****e on the field, kind of gotten used to us being hopeless against real teams.
That my friend is resignation. We've finally come to peace on how much we've fallen. Wenger's golden era has finally come to an end.
Cheer up guys, we have 4th place to fight for, and we have Villa on Saturday, a good chance to give a thrashing to make ourselves feel better, and thinking we have a great and capable team.
Do spare a thought for Gooner, who's on a coach right now on a long trip to Wales, lol, he came all the way just to watch that sh!t. Those long trips are always more unbearable after such defeats. :-D
Do people actually want money given to Wenger to go bargin basement shopping again,if we are going to spend big I would rather it was by a manager who is able to operate in the modern game,we all know by now about Wengers blind spot when it comes to defending and tactics, the guy is a one trick pony and his trick only works with a squad of world class players and I don't see us buying such a squad any time soon.
Well that's the point I'm making, the board and the manager need to make a commitment to buying the players who are of the same calibre as Wilshere, Arteta, Cazorla, Walcott
Chelsea aside Villa have given a good account of themselves away from home against the better sides, it may not be the rollover many are expecting although Arsenal have the quality to beat them comfortably
I'm a west ham fan but arsenal are kinda like my 2nd team due to a few reasons. I honestly feel sorry for arsenal fans because you know you are not good enough anymore and most of you are finally accepting that cold hard fact. Yet you will go on and on in the same cycle for years to come because both your board and manager do not have high goals and the fact is wenger is doing well enough to warrant his continued tenure. I'm sure I don't need to say this but as long as both your manager and board exist within arsenal you won't go anywhere but down. What you really need us a fresh start with a new manager at the least anyway. It really is like Groundhog Day at arsenal.
Your in cuckoo land if you think any other English side would have fared any better against that Bayern side. They are Dortmund would rip any English side apart.
Oh I would swap with arsenal in a heartbeat in terms of league position finishes etc but come on, I fear for arsenal over the next few years, you really do look like you're heading for the Europa.
There really are no excuses for Arsenal's regression, people can talk about the new stadium and less funds being available, but that's STILL not a valid reason for why we have regressed so far, and why the gulf in class has widened so much. Are we really going to blame finances for the fact that we've been neck and neck with Spurs over the past few years? That's the BIGGEST indication of how far we have regressed. Heck, count Everton this season as well. Furthermore, in the past few seasons, we've been generating record revenue AND profits, so it makes zero sense to blame this current regression on some sort of financial issue, when it sure as hell isn't. It's as clear as daylight that the problem is the MANAGER, who needs to go once the season ends. He's the one who made us excellent, but then went into ****** mode and seems hell bent on making us a **** laughing stock. What else do you describe when he persisted with players like Santos, and Gervinho (present)? If that's not ****** mode, I'd like to know what is? The list goes on of beyond bad players that Wenger persisted with, DENILSON? What the ****????? BENDTNER?
None of the players you listed are first teamers with 3 of them out on loan and 1 of them frozen out of the team.
Denilson was first team when he was here. Wenger recently said Gervinho was a starter as well when he was critiqued on the team selection. Bendtner was also regularly playing for us when he was here. Fact is, THEY SHOULD NEVER BE AT ARSENAL IN ANY SHAPE OR CAPACITY. People can harp on about Gervinho having a good record when we signed him, AH AH, even when I heard the news of signing him, which came around the same time when it was very likely that Nasri was leaving, I wasn't at all thrilled with his signature and still expected much better. Chelsea got Mata, we got Gervinho, explains everything really. And people say but but if we got Mata we wouldn't get Cazorla, why? Which rule book says you can't have 2 great world class attacking midfielders? Mata and Cazorla tonight on 1 pitch VS Bayern sure as hell would've done us a lot of good in troubling that Bayern defence, plus, there's something called squad DEPTH.
Btw, even with Ramsey's slight good form recently (nothing ground breaking really), Arsenal SHOULD HAVE a much better and more dominant midfielder on the pitch today against a side like Bayern, but alas, we chose not to go and buy a quality solid midfield enforcer.
I've been making the trip since before you were born and i've seen a lot worse teams than the one we have now.
If you had Mata then you would have one world class midfielder, and only oneCarzola is good, but not world class
