I was thinking like Arsenal PLC for a second, another home and away game in this competition would've given us extra $$$ so would've been much preferable to have gotten a weaker and capable team to beat at this stage for 2 more games.
Not sure what you expect Wenger to do? He has clearly stated that this team is strong enough, but he's just seen Arsenal totally out-classed at home, and on supposed good form. I had no idea how awful we've become. I was guessing we would go out there and fight to a win or a respectable draw. But we looked totally ****. We were lucky not be 3-0 down at HT, but we got lucky with a goal. It should have been 4-0 to Bayern to be honest. We hardly created anything and i don't think Bayern went all out either.
I'd suggest you download the matchday program to see Wenger's comments about the team, he states that they are strong, good enough, and capable of taking Bayern on. Reading the matchday program on the train home AFTER the game makes you realise how well and truly deluded Wenger has become.
I expect him and the board to properly commit to strengthening this squad. Wenger will never come out and criticise in public, that just isn't his style, like it or not. I agree, we were taught a lesson tonight by Bayern and it was an example of how far off we are. The board say the money is now there, then they and Wenger now have a chance to put it right in the summer. If they don't then the criticism is justified and there should be change.
OK, i must remember to never watch a football match on ITV again. Why did Lee Dixon go there, he's far too good for them. His relevant points getting drowned out by that fat brummie ape and his big nosed sidekick.
Said it earlier, but I hope Barcelona and Bayern Munich play each other this season. What a game, that should be.
I don't need to as he's said it plenty this season on TV. But somehow we've got steadily worse. How the feck have we got worse when we have more money and a bigger stadium? The 2008 team would never have been beaten like this, and i would guess it would have drawn or won. Arsenal is fecking getting worse year on year out. Only thing is to drop out the top 4.
I want to see how Bayern try and deal with Barca, that would be a great to watch. But I suppose, Messi again makes the difference and in the end Barca would see them off.
Your an intelligent man, even you don't believe the things you've wrote there. There is no evidence this will happen. They've had the chance in the past but they haven't. If anything, I can see him leaving just to stay true to his philosophy.
Exactly. These last two years in particular have been horrible. Before at least we gave some top teams a run for their money (heck we even beat Barca).
No heart, no spirit, no fight for the most part, tactically woeful. Summary of our season. If you were working for an employer who consistently failed to achieve their goals over such a sustained period, wouldn't you question the methods being employed? After such an amount of time wouldn't you start to think your boss does t have a clue! It is saddening me greatly to be an arsenal fan at the moment, however everyone is always saying its part of being a fan going through the ups and downs, well eight years of spiralling downwards has left me firmly in the belief that a substantial change is needed, fresh thinking, new ideas and hopefully someone who is capable of installing some belief back into our beleaguered group of players. I don't know who that is but if nothing changes then we will be right back here in feb 2014 It feels as though Wenger has lost the faith and belief of his players in his game plan and it shows with our wishy washy performances, there are times where we play some stunning football but they are few and far between indeed, I will always cheer the arsenal but as for arsene I'm sorry here is one fan you have lost
Mate, the tragic thing is Wenger DOES meet the goals set by those that employ him. Top four is all they want and he gets them that, season in season out.
Btw, Wenger doesn't just manage to keep his job, he's the highest paid manager too, 7.5 million a year, wrap your head around that one.
Exactly, at least we were competitive.. We may have lost, but at least we were damn exciting and put fear in teams. This team is a shadow of what Wenger used to produce. He left the building in 2008, the ghost remains.....

I think Wenger should do the decent thing and look for pastures new. He clearly loves the club, and he is still our best manager ever, but it's just clear that we've stagnated, it's like a marriage that's about to hit the skids. Better to split up, for the sake of the kids (us)
