COYG! Liking Xhaka with his new role this season, but we 100% need an upgrade on Elneny and Lokonga to partner him if Partey is going to be out injured for long periods, my only concern with the current squad until the Jan transfer window.

Good half soo far, Lokonga has actually been class - some quality long balls into the forwards.

Villa are clearly looking to kick us off the park but.. its not working!

Jesus with another goal. Odegaard absolutely quality yet again.

... Also who would have thought it would take this long for a manager to find Xhaka best role? fair play to Arteta on that.

    HT. 1-0.

Completely battered them. How it’s only 1-0 is a mystery. We should be 3/4-0 up. They’ve had no chances and we’ve totally controlled the game.

We better hope those missed opportunities don’t come back to bite us in the second half.

I know Emi Martinez made a mistake for the goal, but he’s also kept Villa in the game with 3 top drawer saves. Let’s hope we don’t allow them back into the match and can increase our advantage.

Oooh my goodness if that had gone in by Martinelli:eek:

Only downside is the game should be out of sight by now but at only 1-0 Villa are still in it.

1-1 <doh>. Villa equalise directly from a corner. Of course a freak goal is how we end up dropping points.

We’ve battered them all game and then this happens. This is what happens when you don’t take your chances and give the opposition a sniff.

    FT. 2-1.

More than deserved that. We completely ran the show for the entire game.

Special mention to Lokonga. This was his first start this season, had to play the #6 role and played very well in the first half. Dropped off a bit in the 2nd half, but all things considered, a solid 1st start to the season.

The referee made some extremely dodgy decisions throughout but at least it didn’t affect us.

What I also like is our resilience - we respond to setbacks very well and that’s a big testament to our character.

5/5 wins - can’t ask for much more than that <ok>

    Onto Old Trafford we go…

Tough fought win...something definitely feels different. That was a CLASSIC example of the type of match we usually drop points.

Lokonga actually looked pretty classy - hopefully he can step up now.

Martinelli had a great game I thought.

Not only that, but I just reviewed the goal we conceded again. Ramsdale was clearly being impeded. Jacob Ramsey was holding him with both arms so he couldn’t get the ball.

Incredible decision to allow that goal to stand. I know it didn’t cost us in the end, but on another day, it could have.
