Arteta's goal from that game. What a hit!!!
I would drop Merte and maybe even Szczesny. Their form lately has been unacceptable. I always criticise Koscielny, but he's looking good lately.
Problem with that is Vermaelen and Kos as a partnership is terrible. So much panic with those two together.
Chez Jenk Kos(Most likely Verm) Mert Monreal Arteta SJW10 Rosicky Theo Giroud Podolski Ramsey, Oxo, and Santi as subs if needed
Can't drop Cazorla, he is still one of our best players despite his performance against Bayern. Maybe, drop Giroud, put Podolski through the middle, and play Santi out wide on the left. As a creative trio, Wilshere,Rosicky and Cazorla is pretty stunning, especially if they are all on it.
I think Mert's form necessitates him being dropped. Unfortunately we can't drop Vermaelen too (captain). If I had my way I'd play Sagna in the middle again to see how well he does a second time. Put him alongside Kos with Jenks at RB. Sagna has the positional sense, strength, and anticipation of danger to play CB very well. I am certain he will migrate there in a couple of years anyway. A midfield with Rosicky, Wilshere and Cazorla (on the left) would be incredible. I'm sure they'd enjoy playing with eachother, and that could be just what we need to boost morale.
No it doesn't. He had a poor game against Bayern. He was solid against S'Land and Stoke (didn't even feature vs B'Burn) and was average against Pool, but he's been in far better form than Verm and Kos.
His defensive mistakes cost us goals against Brighton and Liverpool. In 3/5 games he has been dire. That's poor form any way you look at it.
Vermalean's calamity against Bayern, Liverpool, Probably could have saved the shot against BB. Face the facts, Verm has been our worst main CB this season and while he's a good player, despite Mert's rough patch, Mert has been our best CB and defender this season.
Why do I have to "face the facts" about Verm's bad defending? He's been **** too... I've even said so in this thread. I'm not sure why you brought it up when we were talking about Mertesacker. Drop them both, they're currently both terrible.
Well thats uncannily accurate description of when we played Swansea City at home . We didnt beat Villa last time we met them so your prediction aint that wide of the mark is it ?. I hope we do beat them as this is another one of them famous must win games. but , as someone said . your embarrassing yourself. Sweetheart .
This does have the potential to be another of those dismal afternoons we have suffered. On top of our recent calamities and the 'fragility' of the team, Villa have had time to rest players, work out, practice and perfect a game plan which will probably mean snaffling a goal and parking the bus. We need to actually start to play in the first half for a change and come out at them. That said, I believe that, starting with perhaps an ugly win tomorrow, Wenger can get us the to the fourth place spot by the end of the season. What happens then is going to be the question..........
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...as-player-is-overlooked-for-Arsenal-game.html Phew, we won't be coming up against that genius today, then.
What went wrong with him? He was on fire at City and got shipped out, but he still looks a quality player, not Arsenal quality but better than Villa.
