Impressions of the game. We didn't do a lot wrong to go 2 down. Misplayed their short corner routine and got unlucky with a rebound. Can't blame Kos for the goal, once the cross goes in the onrushing Dunn is always going to get a better jump than a static defender. 2 penalties, and a rebound, well, we have lost a lot of games like that, so can't get upset when we win one the same way. Dunn didn't deserve a yellow for the pen IMHO. Careless tackle yes and a definite penalty, but not reckless, not deliberate and not really denying an obvious goal opportunity. I think the ref has to show a little leniency there. Mind you I don't often see referee's giving us a break in the same situation. No way would Dean or Dowd have given either of those penalties. Kos would probably have been sent off, second half.
If Dunne had commited that foul anywhere but the penalty area he would have got a yellow.He should have been sent off
I saw that comment Piskie. I don't know if it was aimed at me as well but credit where credit was due the response at half time was fantastic. Totally unexpected from my point of view as well.
I thought Ramsey did well today. He's been massively undervalued this season in my opinion. It was never going to be easy without Fab and Nasri, Ramsey has been asked to carry a lot this season. Showed why he's got his place in the team today.

I only saw bits of the game, but I was impressed with what I saw of Rosicky today, he looked much better than I generally perceive him to be.
Villa's goals were due to classic rank bad defending, the like of which we have seen all to often recently. The second half comeback was extremely fortunate and the pure luck in getting 2 penalties and a deflected goal really gives little credit to anyone other than the referee and Theo.
How was getting the pens lucky? Kos made a stunning run into their box and Ramsey also made a burst which they could not deal with so they had to take them down. Both clear pens which we deserved. We upped the tempo in the second half and Villa could not cope.
