<ok> I played rugby in school, when you win consecutive games, especially against tough opponents, it raises the morale of the entire squad and inspires you to perform at an even higher level.

But we went out with our heads held high, we didn't roll over and die, like expected. I didn't see this performance coming.

<laugh> I'm about as much of an emo as Jayram is a positive person, that is, not at all.

  6. Its much better to win tonight, than not, for confidence - that we can agree on.

Still dont understand how tonight can be anything other than a disappointing night, with some encouraging signs form the first half performance.

The wild claims of how wonderful tonight has been is, to say the least, weird.

Actually you can find an early post in this thread where I saw it continues our momenteum and thus it will be a good thing. But logically the win was still meaningless. I am agreeing with you. I wrote what you have written. I am just trying to make everyone see what jayram is saying.

He is saying we should give credit to todays performance but that in the end it was meaningless and we are out...defeated.

BTW, any news on the Ox? How severe is the injury.

  9. The very least I would expect is that we would not roll over and die. To lavish praise on the team for turning up and fighting is not something I am prepared to do.

I will give praise for an excellent first half performance tonight, but in the rest of the tie we were poor.

Shouldn't you be supporting another team then? We play brilliantly, and still you whine? Go support Sunderland, they'd love you.

All he is doing is logically analysing the game after it. It is nothing to do with his support for the club <ok>

    Spuds 5-2
    Pool 2-1
    Milan 3-0

    Team beat us 4-0
We go and play them again and In A Game where we had 5% of a cahnce we beat them 3-0 in one of the best performances I've seen from us in a while (Excluding 5-2)
We amy not be progressing but it was a GREAT sign of things to come and let's use this to better our season

The gaining of confidence tonight has value. Therefore the victory was not meaningless. We fought valliantly and lost. The result is best described as bitter sweet imo.

No he's not. He's misreading tonight's performance. We were not poor over 180 mins, we were poor in the 1st leg.

Tonight we were every bit deserving of our 3-0 win and it would have also been justified if we'd have gone through, such was the determined effort and narrowness of defeat (RVP chance)

To dismiss it as loser mentality as I've said, is just patronising nonsense.

Perhaps you could explain to Jayram how these results demonstrate a loser mentality?

Well that isn't really an answer is it ?

    Tell me Jayram. How does:

    Spuds 5-2
    Pool 2-1
    Milan 3-0

    Demonstrate a loser mentality ?
