Gutted for Martinez. He sets his teams up for attacking, flowing, passing football which is cracking to watch. But ultimately, he hasn't been able to bring in enough quality and his defence is testament to that.
Ah well, quite disappointed Wigan are going down, I fancied us to finish above them more than the likes of Villa or Sunderland. I'd take a few of their players off them though, at least we can match their wage structure which will help.
Fulham will do one next season. Villa will struggle, then its one from Watfud or Palace. The KC will be renamed 'The graveyard'. God I must stop writing this script.
I think you could end up being the next Wigan. Small club, playing very attractive football with a good manager managing to survive by the skin of their teeth each season playing 5-3-2.
I'd take 8-0 and 9-1 defeats every week if it meant we could win a cup. Unfortunately, I'd bet everything I have that City won't win a ****ing thing in my lifetime. I was pleased to see Wigan win on Saturday because everybody slags them off and says they don't deserve to be in the top-flight and that they're a '**** club'. Clearly that's been true this season as they've gone down, but it hasn't been for the last seven.
Trouble is - this hanging on by the skin of your teeth business knocks years off your life. If I'd been a Wigan supporter I reckon I'd be dead by now.
Just winning will do me. Don't care how well we play next year or how many people like us. All that "we're everyone's second club" is bollocks and fake praise that'll change to derision once we start to lose. I'd rather be disliked, if i'm honest. I'd ****in love City to win a cup. Or even get past the 4th round would be nice.
It made sense what he was saying. In the PL we're a small club. In fact, unless Palace come up we're definitely THE smallest club in the PL. Crowds from 50 years ago won't help us now. It's nice we had so many fans once, but half of them are dead now.
