Quality won in the end but I think we put in a shift and gave a good account of ourselves, score flatted Arsenal a bit methinks. Our man of the match Karnezis, can't really blame him for the goals.
Walking back to Highbury and Islington station. One of those days. Train taken out of service, mates cancelled, poor beer and then THAT
Yeah my gooner Facebook friends are certainly enjoying it. Thankfully I said at the time it would come back to bite us so I am relatively free from any stick...
Oh well. Thought we did ok actually but so predictable Deeney would miss!! Arsenal quality told but we certainty played our part in an open game.
Could have ended up 5-5 if both sides had taken 75% of their chances or we could have lost by 6 if Arsenal had taken half of the chances they did not score from. In the end it was Troy's penalty miss that actually turned the game and probably his words after the last game that motivated Arsenal today.
Seems like we got stuffed but the reality wasn't that bad. Scoucers next At least all results went our way this weekend.
We probably had more efforts in this game than the last 2 games.. Just the other strike force knew how to score. Again Hughes and Femenia did well I though and Richarlison more involved than in the past. Probably missed a bit of bite in midfield as they seemed to get into our half quite easily.
I watched the game via the USA, but listened to Jon Marks and Derek Payne. What was said by the commentators was that we lined up with two up front, Richarlison and Deeney, playing a 4-4-2 formation. This meant that Arsenal playing just the one up front had an extra man in midfield. The more I watched the more I could see what they meant, and was quite surprised that we didn't really change. In fact towards the end as we tried to get back into the game, Okaka was brought on and Deeney dropped back a bit. It did help to provide a decent game for the non-committed to watch, and I was impressed that our coach believed that going for a result was the best approach. I think we have a side that is talented, but not quite good enough in the final third to produce the goods. Still to lose away from home 3-0 somehow doesn't seem as bad as losing 1-4 at home.
The official comment was that he had been left out for personal reasons, not that he had been dropped. Where did your info come from Mark?
I hope there’s nothing silly going on here. Gracia just doesn’t seem like that kind of man and Gomes has been such a great servant to the club and seems like a true gent.
