He needs to play 4-5-1 and keep it tight, if we play how we have so far under his management, we will get taken apart by Arsenal and exposed massively. I don't think Pochettino is the sort of manager to change from his style though.
Today, I think, will be a make-or-break game for Poch. Play like he has and/or fail to motivate the players to get off their fat arses and press throughout the game, and we will be destroyed by Arsenal = supporters will begin to ask for his head (including me). Get some kind of result, even if it means playing a scrappy game, and I'll have faith that he has what it takes to push us forward. I wonder if there is a mentality with managers who've done well at inferior clubs (like Saints), where they've had to kick arse to get the best out of average players, that when they come to a superior club, like Spurs, they think they don't have to try as hard because the players will do all the work?
I know that HIAG's posts aren't to be taken seriously, but if we lose today then there will be people calling for the manager's head and they'll be idiots to a man. The guy hasn't even had a dozen games yet and we're supposed to be trying to develop some stability and consistency.
After reading hiags last post I suspect his real name is daniel levy I think he has made an ok start...top 4 was never achievable but a cup might be ... he needs 2 yrs no matter what imo
It will be interesting to hear people`s thoughts three PL games from now, I think Poch needs time but AVB achieved our highest points total in his first season and Sherwood the highest win percentage in his tenure, so it is not so unreasonable to expect some sign of improvement straight away. The players do not seem suited to implementing Poch`s style, which makes me wonder why we did not appoint a manager to get the best out of our current squad, the last thing we need is another manager massively over hauling the squad and more years of transition.
It is crazy but if we lose big today then a lot of people will turn on Poch, that's just the nature of modern football.
Lloris, Naughton, Kaboul (c), Vertonghen, Rose; Capoue, Mason; Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela; Adebayor Vorm, Dier, Fazio, Bentaleb, Lennon, Townsend, Soldado Incredible decision to start Mason, lets hope it pays off! Personally I'd have gone with Davies and Townsend down the left but there you go, bring on the Scum.
Well hows that for rewarding a player who grabbed his chance...brave decision to start mason. Coys...do us proud
After the Liverpool game showed that Chadli is poor at covering for Rose, I'd have thought Lennon might have got the nod for this one. Hope that doesn't come back to haunt us.
Having decided I can't live without Sky Sports any more, the first thing I see when its turned on is Judas on the match coverage. Don't let this be an omen....
We are inviting them to presssure our back 4...slack in possession and not closing them down...at least we aint behind as quickly as the last NLD...but not optomistic itll last
