No dispute whatsoever - expecpt by the totally deluded. One of the things I wish our fans would not do is resort to the same laughable approach adopted by some Spurs fans over the last 15 years - i.e claiming they were better than us. As for tomorrows game, whilst unlikely, we could win - Spurs beat Arsenal twice in the two years prior to this season in the league, and in both seasons Arsenal were the better team.
Currrently not, but that's beside the point I made, which is that I don't agree with your defeatist way of thinking that says our fans and players have lowered their expectations, so we might as well just accept that we'll lose. You said yourself that Arsenal were the better team when we lost last season to Spurs, so even if we're not as good as spurs at the moment, why should we expect to lose ?
no one should expect to lose,as some one stated before, form book goes out of the window in North london derbies, either team could win it.
Arsenal are still favourites BTW http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-coupons/major-leagues-cups-coupon So the gloom amongst some of the 'Emirati' hasn't shifted en masse to the punters, who are still laying more on Arsenal than Spurs.
I don't buy into this pathetic argument that City will dominate just because they have money. If Wenger had bought the bloody players we needed instead of faffing about with kids we'd be challenging right now and City's money would mean nothing. If Arsenal invest in some sensible players we will be challenging City. You just have to look at our team to see how bad it is, is there any wonder we are struggling so much with the midfield we have. Spurs are a better team than us for sure.
Exactly. If any one game has shown this, it's the NLD. There have been some high scoring and very unpredictable games recently. That usually happens because both teams forget all about expectations and put in a performance at a more intense level than usual. Which is exactly why there's no point in taking the defeatist attitude that we are expected to lose and so we should base our expectations on that. That's a completely nonsensical way of thinking to me, you might as well not even bother turning up if you expect to lose before a ball is even kicked.
We should probably have some kind of disclaimer on our board. "The views of Jayram, do not necessarily represent those of Arsenal FC and their fans'
I also think we can improve enormously - several of our players look demoralised (I will refrain from Wenger bashing this time) - as soon as the chips are down we go into beaten mode. A fresh win tomorrow, some team rousing out of their slumber and we can get back to winning ways. Instead of wringing of hands - we need a 'captain' shouting to 'get up for it'. Remember Henry just a short while ago? Should we offload successfully in the summer, promote a couple and buy wisely - then we back to challenging.
Actually as I said most Arsenal fans expect to lose tomorrow. As I also said that doesnt mean we will lose As I have pointed out so many times to you and proven - the views of most Arsenal fans are completely counter to your delusion that Wenger has done a brilliant job over the last 7 years, and that we are not a club in crisis
Sadly, for AFC, that is now very true, Oxo. You only have to look at our squad compared to yours, and you'd be a fool to argue that we are not the better side, by a long, long way. I'm sure you will raise your game against us, tomorrow - you always do, for the derby. But let's not forget that you remain in our shadow, and will still be in our shadow, even should you be able to pull off the win. I think most Spurs fans will be extremely disappointed if we do not win comfortably, though.
no,Piskie has conceded we are the better team this season, anyone who can't see that need's their head looking at
I think it's his first step into reality - as the delusion fades away completely he will be so happy.
Anyone care to aggregate crowds at WHL and compare to those at the Emirates over say last 3 years? fool.
Once, I admired PESKIE's pig-headed insistence that nothing was wrong at the heart of AFC. When Fab left - as was inevitable, despite PESKIE's belief that he'd stay "for one more season" - I was mildly amused by PESKIE's belief that, somehow, AFC would be stronger, not weaker. Even when Clichy and Nasri left AFC in search of real honours, I sometimes managed a smile at PESKIE's insistence that "everything was okay" and that "it will be business a usual" at AFC. But, with RVP's continued refusal to sign a new contract, and now Walnut telling Whinger which position to play him in, I find that I am less impressed with PESKIE's optimism. Even a blind man knows when it's raining, FFS!
