lol one match and Pikie doesnt have the shame to realise his team is still crap and we had a poor day....your win was our fault not your team's utter brilliance...that is all.
For now We've got our eye on your 3rd spot now. 0-0 draw with Stevenage and then a tonking at the hands of the mighty Arsenal, coupled with ongoing uncertainty about Redknapp's position . . this could be the start of your collapse I'm just taking the opportunity to have my moment to revel in our glory at giving you a good hiding - I'm sure you'd be doing the same if it were the other way around. All done in good spirit
Your fault? Nope, sorry. Our team made sure you made mistakes. Pressed from the start and never let you breath. Hence the mistakes. We moved the ball at pace and you could near our players.
Unless wenger was in charge of our half time substitutions, you didn;t make sure we made mistakes - we made those all on our own.
We set up in a way that totally stifled our own game. We defended deep, attempting to draw you out and isolate your two centre-halves, so that Adebayor and Saha could take them on. Redknapp then destroyed all semblance of balance at half-time, while simultaneously introducing two players lacking in match-fitness. Utterly suicidal tactics, which played directly into your hands.
You should speak to Super Jack about my celebrations . . . But I did have to stop for a moment to capture your lot heading for the exits
We were quicker, more incisive, passed better, pressed, tracked back and created more than you all afternoon. We made you look poor long before 'Arry tinkered at HT
Did you miss the bit where I pointed out why we were poor, somehow? We played tactics which we're just not suited for, which are completely different from our normal game, for some reason. We were poor because of ridiculous and suicidal tactics, as well as inappropriate team selection for those tactics, followed by some exceptionally stupid substitutions. Feel free to believe that it was because your team has suddenly transformed into a decent side, but you're wrong.
See thats the problem - whilst Piskie is way over the top claiming after one game we are the dominant force, it is no more over the top than saying we won because of your faults. The truth is we won because we were better than you on the day - and totally outclassed you. Over the season Spurs have been better though - as the table proves.
Like I've been saying all along, Piskie. You outfought and worked harder than us. That's what I find so hard to forgive. We also, stupidly, started with at least two players in King & Walker, who blatantly weren't properly fit. Why we did that, in a game of this magnitude, I have no,idea!
Hoddle is a god (in another life maybe) ..... a lot of arsenal fans had the same feeling you and every other spurs fan had going into the game ... the fact the media and saf labelled you guys as playing the best football in the league and the lets mock arsenal v milan, sunderland and sundry others makes this one off derby result extra satisfying, the score does not say it all .. it was men v boys and our men won easily. how you bounce back will tell you if third place is safe, it could be anyway as both us and chelski have proved a good result is often followed by dross but you guys were outplayed out fought and ultimately out thought in every department except one on ones with gibbs who injuries apart looks like a move him on player in the summer. if we are in free fall and losing fans, dressing room etc the result for you must be all the more hard to take ... 2 nil up and never in the races .... as for your fans ... "is there a fire drill!. COYG
Reminds a bit of the whole Ramsey/Shawcross thing. Stoke fans thought Ramsey was in the wrong for not accepting the apology of a man that broke his leg. As for Parker and TV, I can understand the actions of TV. He has been so unlucky with injuries and missed a year with a serious injury. So its understandable that he was pissed off and did not accept the apology at first.
What's interesting about the aftermath in all this, is that professional pundits - the ones whose opinions really count - are viewing the NLD result as a slip-up for Spurs and a rare show of form for Arsenal. At the end of the day, that tells you all you need to know about the respective fortunes and futures of our two clubs.
oh dont worry i do, the truth about our team and manager hurt me a lot, the pain was eased a bit by the result but the wound inflicted by wenger and his in him we trust sheep is so deep and damaging a 10-nil would not have remotley covered the crack we need to fix, yesterday may go some way to us doing things right though and at a time when most spurs fans thought it was a foregone conclusion it reminds me of a lovely old song about past glories ..... now repeat after me "you won the league ... you won the league" "in black and white .. in black and white" "you won the league in black and white" "you won the league in the 60's ....." "you won the league in black and white"*** *** repeat verse for 51 years .. and counting .. makes our 8yrs since a title a bit more paletable.
I think that it's all pretty simple, really. Not sure why people are making such a fuss about it. Parker's foul - bad, Parker's attempt to apologise for foul, rather than attempting to avoid 2nd yellow - good. Vermaelen's reaction to Parker's reaction - completely understandable, Parker's persistence, despite being dismissed - good. It was a bad challenge and he deserved to get sent off, but I think that most modern players wouldn't have reacted in the way that Parker did. Most players either protest their innocence or get upset with the referee, regardless of why they're being sent off.
I don't think it's us being in any way ungracious, more like us having had time to reflect on the fact that, in the cold light of Monday, it really isn't the end of the world for us, but it may still be for Arsenal.
