Combined North London XI, according to today's Standard... Friedel Walker Kaboul Vermaelen Assou-Ekotto Lennon Parker Modric Bale Van Persie Adebayor They've bought into the hype more than any Spurs fan has - which is setting us up for a fall. Or was that the idea?
Vermaelen hasn't been Arsenal's best centre-half this season, Koscielny has. Make you right about the Standard setting us up for a fall, Croydon.
i dont think the players think the same..no bloody way would a team think they are not good enough...thats bolox...i think it is more accurate to presume that they are actually not good enough...and thats why they might lose..not because it doesnt matter now because everyone has accepted it...if that was the attitude then the likes of Wigan would not even bother turning up....If Spurs beat Arsenal it is not because Arsenal couldnt be arsed because they are not good enough so everyone from their players to their fans accepted it..its because Spurs are better. i wouldnt want to play in your team! and if anything if one accepts that one is not good enough yet still has to turn up to play a match then usually it means one is scared..fearful of a pasting...and it is the worst scenario because you will not be able to live with the opposition..that is what will be the more likely scenario..as oppose to ohh well we know we are crap! p.s you might aswell stay at home for the return leg against Milan..infact i think you should forfeit the match since its all accepted.
The article did say we shaded it in some areas - Sagna would've been right back if fit, Wilshere would've been pushing Parker - but it is rather black and white. The only ones that are legit one or the other are Ade over any striker not named Van Persie, and Modric over Ramsey and bale over Arshavin/Rosicky, although their verdict of Lennon being a better overall player than Walcott (whilst Oxlade-Chamberlain needs a season or two to develop) is right on the nose, although nobody told Stuart Pearce...
The only player really pushing Adebayor for his place in that side is van der Vaart, in my opinion, Croydon. As for those who've suffered injuries displacing people, who knows if they'd have played well enough to do so if they were fit? You could argue that Sandro would've pushed for Parker's place, in that situation.
Or King for Vermaelen's - King playing "only" 15 games ruled him out, yet that's the same number of overall games (in fact more league games) than Vermaelen has played. The criteria for choosing did seem odd, by and large.
RVP is the only Gooner that could reasonably get in a best-of NL team at this moment in time. Leds has played enough all season and is currently fit, so no way that Vermaelen would be preferred over him. Bloody worrying actually - for tomorrow at least!!
Not according to the bookies and punters ATM http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-coupons/major-leagues-cups-coupon Arsenal are currently favourites to win.
We are gonna do the spuds this weekend. I can feel it. We have been awful all year but the spuds have been dire and lucky since december. 3-1 arsenal.
Oh heavens - not that to**er again!! Just when I thought that the level of x-NL debate was getting more reasoned......
Look guys, he lives in Stevenage (Why would you want to broadcast that! ) he has to have some hope in his life.
