Not too happy with that first half. Started brightly as we had to and got the goal, then we just sat back. The penalty was iffy - it's hard to see if Bale dived but in the split second the ref + linesman get to view the incident - it looks a pen - well taken by Adebayor regardless. We didn't deserve to be 2-0 up as Arsenal had been good and had gone close and they fully deserved to get their goals. Tottenham need to regroup as their heads will be down coming out for the second half. We've struggled to hold possession against their midfield (as I suspected would happen the minute I saw us playing a 4-4-2.) - need to bring VdV on to stablise things. Match could go either way now.
He's just returned from injury and probably isn't 100% fit - see it is possible to make a forum post without resorting to wummery!
Im looking forward to seeing all those players coming onto the pitch. Although Spurs have the edge with quality on the bench, we still have RVP on the pitch, so who knows...I loved seeing Sagna score that goal, proper blood and guts!
As much as I rate Gareth Bale, there are three sides to his game that I really, really despise. 1) His theatrics when he goes down 2) His screams for a foul when he goes down and his attitude post no foul being given 3) His diving. Second half could go either way, although as it stands it looks like Arsenal will get their revenge for last season!
Should be 3-1 to Arsenal, but the ref got both penalty decisions wrong - both favouring Spurs. We've had no wins in something like 12 matches with this ref.
Gibbs jumped at Walker - I fail to see how that should result in an Arsenal penalty. The Bale pen - fine no argument there from me
Each goal came from us backing off... if we closed them down like Arsenal have been doing to us we would be 2 nil up still if not more. Not happy that this seems to not being noticed by the players!
