GD could come back to haunt you on Sunday. If pool win, City lose and you win it'll be between you and city on GD. If you draw and pool lose it will be between you and pool on GD. Gonna be a very bad last day for someone and my money's on pool not beating Boro...it would be in keeping with their season against teams out side the top 10.
Sky were praying you'd win as it makes for an nervy end to the season for City, Liverpool and Arsenal and an exciting last day for all neutrals. In theory you are the outsiders and have the hardest game but Liverpool and city can be flakey. Just enjoying being a spectator for once
Makes a change that it's not Spurs fans anxious to see whether they make top 4. Obviously I hope we win and Liverpool don't, but if we do miss out, I can't really have any complaints. It wouldn't really be a harsh reflection on our season to be honest.
The biggest impact of not getting top 4 will be on whether Sanchez stays. That was the problem we faced with Modric and Bale...but we still continued to develop even after those loses so there is no reason why missing out on CL would destroy Arsenal, City or Liverpool Unfortunately
I hope the club make good on their statement that Sanchez won't be sold. I'd rather he left on a free next season, it's not like we need the money THAT badly. Obviously I'd rather he signed a new contract.
Money men won't see it like that but I agree. The problem for Arsenal is that 10 or so first team/squad players only have 1 season left on their contracts including Walcott, Oxo Chamberlain, Ozil, Sanchez...that could lead to a lot walking on a free in 12 months and that is a **** load of money for the money men to consider losing. God knows how this situation was allowed to happen at a regular top 4 premier league club.
Something is rotten at board level to allow so many player's contracts to run down. I don't understand how a club of our size and stature can allow that to transpire. Walcott can go, I hope we sell him. £25m and we should bite the hand off any club that offers that. Sanchez and Ozil, give them whatever they want. Oxo, I think he'll stay and sign a new contract.
The trouble is that only a few clubs would pay £25m for Walcott and I am not sure he'd want to go to them. Only Liverpool in the top 5 might be interested in buying him imo. Can not see Spurs, City, United or Chelsea wanting him and can not see him wanting to got to a team who is not challenging for a top 4 place. Everton and Southampton might be interested but his wages would put them off if they had to also pay £25m for him too.
Walcott would be looking at a pay cut if he went. I can see somebody like West Ham coming in for him, possibly even a return to Southampton. Or maybe even abroad ?
West ham is a good call...they would be willing to pay a hefty fee and big wages ... after all ... they pay **** all for their stadium
Sanchez is way too good for us, because of his experience at Barca, he might be reluctant to move again to one of the 'super clubs', but a guy of his talent deserves to playing in the final stages of the CL and winning league titles. Hopefully he gets the golden boot on Sunday, cause he bloody deserves it for carrying our attack for the whole season. Even if he does not sign a new contract, might as well keep him for a year, because we got no chance to sign a player of his quality this summer.
Give Ozil whatever he wants? Really? After his performances this season, and watching his performances in big games especially away from home, he does not deserve the wages he demands.
Maybe, but he's still one of our best players. And the way he links up with Sanchez is terrific. Definitely need to see more consistency from him though and some big performances in the big games. I think it's more a case of we can't afford to lose him.
