When Cirkin's back, I would try Hume in the McGeady role, if we play 4-3-3. Would still prefer to play 3-5-2 and leave him out altogether mind. Delighted with our offensive performance last night, unsurprised by our defensive one. We looked a real threat going forwards, particularly Embo, Pritchard and Broadhead. Thought Stewart and Neil huffed and puffed, but didn't stamp their authority on the game. Defensively, we look disorganised and if we are to bring anyone in next month, I hope it's a defensive coach. We're just not set up right. Get the coach in to organise the defence and make us harder to break down, along with a CB (send Alves back and look for a better loan option) and a midfield enforcer and we'll have an outstanding chance of going up. Well done last night lads. The scoreline was harsh, but you will have earned quite a number of neutral admirers after your performance.
I think we have the players to form a good defensive unit - but we desperately need someone to organise them.
I don't know what 'game time' Xhaka gets at the moment, but at the age of 29 he might not be happy being less involved than he'd like at Arsenal, and may be looking at his options. He could well have far better options than what I'm thinking, but he's the sort of 'enforcer' that I'd like at S.A.F.C. That's probably 'pie in the sky' but there's no harm in 'thinking big' even though he'd probably by miles above our sustainability budget/model I'll be having some Remy Martin very shortly, but I really haven't had any yet
Been & gone Done & dusted We move on Promotion here we come. PS, thank you to the fans for making me proud to support this club.
Frightens me what it would be like if we were ever any good! And not often you come away from 5-1 loss so encouraged. I'm still buzzing a day later . There were some horrible defensive errors, but we already knew about those, and you can see we are close with just a couple of signings.
