So Sunday sees the continued improvement in Arsenal's season as they welcome a terrible stoke side to a packed Emirates Stadium. Stoke will be easily swept aside as they will wilt under the intimidating atmosphere and the togetherness of the Arsenal team with their manager and fans. Arsenal are only 8 points behind Chelsea and 13 behind spurs who meet at The Bridge on Sunday. This is Chelsea's easiest 3 points of the season as spurs have not won their since 1823. This means that with 20% of the season still to go top 4 is totally in Arsenal's own hands. But enough of the football side of this match ... we do need to discuss the fact that Wenger sees himself as the victim of age discrimination and I for one think he is right. Everyone calling for his sacking should be ashamed of themselves. And as age discrimination is illegal I think the FA, UEFA, The Premier League, FIFA, the FBI and CIA should make the old **** your manager for life
Arsenal - Stoke City: Probable Lineups by VivaroNews >> https://goo.gl/yA4rWH What do you think guys?!
I think Iwobi has stiff competition. Ramsey, Lacazette, Maitland-Niles and Kolasinac are all potential replacements and although none of them play in exactly that position, every game Iwobi doesn't perform in is another where Wenger might be tempted to take a punt at one of the others. I can't remember the last time I thought he played even moderately well. But maybe Wenger can get him back to form. I'm not suggesting he is a write off, he just needs his mojo back.
Iwobi for Maitland-Niles or Kolasinac ... What you been smoking fella ? Lacazette maybe, or potentially Reiss Nelson or Eddie Nketiah could force their way into some of the forward starting positions, but as mad as Wenger is for playing players out of position, there's no way he's going to swap a forward for a defender. Personally though, I think Iwobi has been doing okay. He needs to improve his finishing, but he's a quality player who can glide past players and create dangerous situations.
I don't know what you are smoking, because in the Brighton and Watford games combined, he amassed a total of 0 successful take-ons, and 0 Key passes. So He wasn't gliding past anyone and he wasn't creating dangerous situations. I'm sure he can do those things, but at this point it is more important that he actually does it. I think the guy seriously needs to regroup, but I didn't say I thought he should be sold or anything. As for Kolasinac. Before he came to us, he was playing more at LM than at LB, and had his best games in that position. If we are not going to play Wing backs, LM is a better position for him than LB.
Kolasinac has never played LWF neither has Maitland Niles. Iwobi might not be pulling up trees, suggesting that the other two could play there is madness
No it isn't madness, that LWF position as you describe it is very similar to the wing back position when we play 3 at the back. I wouldn't describe it as a forward position at all. it really isn't different to the wingers in a 4-4-2 either. Defensively and attacking their duties are pretty much the same.
This International break seems to have lasted an eternity for us, to think our last PL game was on the 11th March is bonkers! (3 weeks ago). Will it be a good or bad thing... main thing is we get some good flowing, quick one touch pass football happening, score 3 or 4 and go in to the Moscow game full of confidence.
Another terrible start to a game, all Stoke at the minute, say's it all really.Another sparse looking attendance also.
