I wish I could tell you that Saints fought the good fight and arsenal let us be, but the PL is no fairytale world. It’s going to be a prison gang-rape.
We’ve now conceded 5(?) goals from set pieces and last season Arsenal scored 22 goals from set pieces, without counting penalties. We can’t even risk giving them cheap free kicks to stop them from playing through us, without risking them scoring from yet another set piece. If we play anywhere close to how we played in the first half on Monday, and Arsenal smell blood, this could easily be another 9-0 or worse. Even without Captain Shoehorn playing, I would expect us to go with 3 CBs, but given how Taylor has been given the chance in recent games I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the third CB and KWP came back into the left side. Ramsay Yuki, THB, Bedders, Taylor, KWP Flynn Dibling, Lallana, Fernandes Archer That would be my choice, but I expect Stewart and Aribo to start, based on the after match comments from RM so wouldn’t be surprised to see Fernandes and Archer on the bench.
There is absolutely no way on earth we will get anything at all from this. Nothing. I'm not even going to eat my head if we do.
Just for clarity we hold the record defeat for the home team in the top flight of English football ever - 0-9, the record defeat for any away game in the top flight ever is 12-0 in 1892 and 1902, so if we lose 13-0 we break a 122 year record. Even we won't do that.....will we?
Thanks, glad to know that, did have a wonder if you might try this selfless act again. It’s bad enough watching what’s happening on the pitch!! Have a good weekend friend!!!
We have a Saints fan up against Sutton this week, Coldplay’s Will Champion. He wisely predicts a 3-0 loss. As does Sutton. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx20pk5zdmro
I am predicting a 5 nil defeat, and Sterling to start instead of Saka, scoring 2 of them. Thankfully it's a 3am kick off time, so my head can't even tell me, it will be ok to get up early and watch the predicted massacre lol
