Mutch - totally absent - useless - not fit - not read the game etc

Sadly Ferdinand not do too much wrong so fear we might see more of him...

On paper, it's not a terrible result but we all know that that was a crap performance. Totally wrong gameplan, r.e. how much respect to give Arsenal. If anything, this was the day Arsenal were for the taking as they weren't that good. Either Harry is getting it wrong or the players aren't confident enough to act it out. I actually suspect the latter, which is still a bad mark on Harry as he's got to get them well drilled and thinking in the right way.

My main point: Harry has got to get it into their minds to pass to players in space and use each other as a team. Too many times did someone try to make a pass that everyone knew would mostly likely not come off when there were several clear players around him. Slow down when you need but pass the ball around quickly to make the other teams run.

We were awful. A totally different team from our home performances. I don't understand the disparity.

And Hoilett did everything really well except for that last ball. What he was doing was actually great on the ball but those crosses were a joke. Did Arsenal pay him off?!

Mutch appears pretty useless. What a waste of money. He gave little support to Isla for all the time he was on the pitch.

    Very, very poor.

I also thought taking Henry off was a very strange decision. Probably cost us the second goal, along with Fer losing the ball and not tracking back.

Me and the lad had to watch that in a pub surrounded by plastic Arsenal fans, all taking the piss about how crap we were, even against 10 men!!

Green - Some good saves, but terrible for the 2nd goal.
    Rio - Solid. Played well.
    Caulker - Also solid.
Onuoha - Did ok. Not as sure footed as the other two CBs.
Traore - A ****ing disgrace. I swear I think he was actually playing for Arsenal!!
Isla - Tried his best to get forward.
Mutch - And the point of him is? Awful.
Henry - Looked a little out-classed against their midfield amd gave it away too much.
    Kranjcar - ****ing terrible!!
Vargas - The late header aside, he was awful. What has happened to him?
Austin - Smashed the penalty and kept trying. So little service!
Hoilett - Gave us attacking impetus and won the penalty (even though it wasn't one!!). But his final ball was unbelievably poor. So frustrating!!
Zamora - Should have done better up against Gibbs in the air on a couple of occasions. Made little impact.
Fer - Pretty anonymous when he came on!

Even against 10 men we looked out-numbered and were out-played at times. We did give it a go towards the end, but even then they looked the more likely to score.
A pretty embarrassing performance all in all. Harry has no plan away from home!!

The players are partially responsible, but for me the main culprit is the tactics and the managers lack of confidence such as talking up the opposition before games. What does that say to our players?

So we carry on snatching points at home and rolling over away. I think only a change of manager will break the cycle, not that I think we should have one right now. I think we just have to carry on with what we've got and hope after 38 games there are 3 worse teams. It's gonna be close.

Two things cost us getting a point (or even three):
    1) when we were on top and settling in, Fer ****ed about with the ball instead of getting it quickly wide... 2-0.
    2) The ref bottled it in added time, nailed on penalty and second red.
Otherwise we are a country mile behind Arse and would have lost comfortably with G'roo being a twat.
The game on Sunday is what matters now, bring it on!

    Agree, apart from:
The ball touched Caulker's heal on the way through, otherwise he would have saved it
I thought Vargas played well, although he started badly.

I thought our movement lacked massively, when you watch Arsenal put 3 passes together and slice open a team. Why can't our team do that?

Absolutely nailed on! I called it as it happened.

The difference is the quality of player and the speed with which the ball was moved.

Because they are a good side with players who are comfortable in possession whereas we are not.....they still played all the football even when reduced to 10 men.....until the last 20 mins.

On way home soaked, not quick enough when breaking & crossing was abysmal, that was a game we should have got something from, disappointing to say the least.

We move the ball so much more quickly at home and it makes a difference. I like Fer, but he is a player who nearly always slows a move down. Unfortunately Vargas is starting to do that too. I really don't know what's happened to him.

Because their players are on a different level, but I would expect our team selection, set up, intelligence, tactics, energy and effort to go a long way to bridging that gap.

It doesn't however, at least not away from home. The responsibility for that lies with the manager and coaches. It's their team, that's been trained by them.

Away from home we may as well not bother turning up the way things are at the moment. I don't necessarily expect to win at Arsenal but what we are being served up time after time is simply unacceptable. I've given up getting angry about it now. I'm disappointed game after game, but not surprised.

Things I have learnt from today's game:

    1. We can only play away from home once the opposition go down to ten men.
    2. Jordan Mutch is not a footballer.
    3. Junior Hoillett couldn't cross a ball if his life depended on it.
    4. Rob Green is brilliant & I'm sick of all the stick he undeservedly gets.
    5. Traore can't defend

    1. Agreed. Even then they out-played us at times.
    2. Agreed.
    3. Hoilett's final ball was terrible and is his biggest weakness. However, his introduction gave us so much more attacking intent and he won the penalty.
    4. Green should have saved the 2nd goal. The deflection hardly made any difference. He always looks likely to drop a clanger imo.
    5. Traore was a disgrace!
