The relevant word is 'treatment' (on the pitch) which has never been allowed in the laws of the game. However, an injured player can be assessed on the pitch - (which obviously would cover head injuries, disorientation etc. which shouldn't be rushed and any clear breaks which would require more than 30 seconds to get the player comfortable and stretchered off). All these take time and come under assessment rather than treatment. Can't believe I'm agreeing with Webb on this but he is correct. Treatment on the pitch has crept in as being acceptable when, strictly, it isn't allowed.

Nah. I'd like the rule be free shot on man on the ground. Keeper drops on the ground. Studs in the head. Player drops with cramp. Rake him with studs. Easy, just turn it into rugby.
