RE; potential offside for their first... Just seen they said Saka was in a VAR blind spot. Really can't see teams looking into that and trying to take advantage... Near side close to halfway line? check
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63397057 Will there be any apologies from the people that condemned Hendo, or will it be radio silence like with the Firmino saga?
what did the lip reading specialists decide was said? or are we to have a racist tag permanently attached to henderson cos firmino "looked disappointed" I note that the article is written in a way that it states the Gabriel made a firm allegation and cos "nobody head it officer" they can't pursue it cos henderon like the racist scum he is denied it. As far as i was aware having watched said incident Henderson never covered his clearly racist gob once and it was painfully obvious that firmino and fabinho heard the full thing and have not played well since. Meanwhile https://www.thefa.com/news/2022/oct/25/fa-statement-on-liverpool-and-arsenal-251022 "Whilst The FA is entirely satisfied that the allegation was made in good faith, it is equally satisfied that there is no case to answer" should be telling us what he said then. did he call him a racist slur or did he just call him a diving ****.
The "Firmino " look at Henderson thing was up there with Shearer's 'Holgate wouldn't have acted like that had he no heard something " dogshit. And he wouldn't let Lineker qualify that by saying "well THOUGHT he heard". No, Shearer was adamant that Holgate reacted because he ' definitely " heard something. ( I had the recording till I changed Tivo boxes this summer). What is crucial though, and was DELIBERATELY misconstrued by many bad actors in the media is that Bobby was reacting to what Gabriel SAID he heard, not what Bobby himself heard. But the damage is done now, the slur sticks, and Hendo and us are victims if we object. And with that wonderful, circular self-reaffiming logic the media and the trolls can move on, just like with Paris, knowing that slurs will always stick harder than facts. Meanwhile, we're still the only fans that interrupted the late Queen's silence, evidently
Tricky one this. If Gabriel thought he heard something then he should definitely feel comfortable in reporting it. It’s the only way to stamp it out, as it obviously still goes on as others still get banned for it. In a ground with thousands of people, it’s easy to mishear something. an investigation has been done and found that what he thought he heard wasn’t actually said. I don’t think Gabriel was making it up (only looks bad in himself, and if you’re going to do it, why would you make it up about henderson who is widely regarded as a bloody good guy). What would be nice is if there was now a joint statement from both Gabriel and Hendo, saying that glad this is over and facts have been found it. Although t thought had heard something, this wasn’t the case. Hendo is glad that thorough process was followed and this is the outcome. Fully supportive of kick it out etc and can move on
Yes, I think he is genuine ( especially with Hendos Mackem accent), whereas Holgate simply desperately made something up to stop himself getting sent off ( sorry Tobes in heaven. that is what I've always thought).
I'd have to say that with the amount of cameras on it and the amount of bad actors and tabloid slur types if they could get a lip read they'd have published. It's fairly clear whatever was said was run of the mill big lad mouthing between the two.
How do we know that he just won't speak to media but can understand just fine? Some folk might be uncomfortable in front of camera or only be passable but in the end he's never bothered immersing himself in anything but his swimming poor thst time. The fact is some can and some can't I guess.
Jordan Henderson reportedly called Gabriel a "****ing idiot" in English, which the Brazilian mistook for a serious insult in Portuguese. That was the incident investigated by the FA.
Because Henderson is fluent in Portuguese ...... It's the Firmino incident in reverse. He called Holgate something in Portuguese which he took to mean 'black ......'. It's so obviously made up for the cameras.
Holgate supposedly mistook 'loco' for negro. Nobody else in the vicinity (including the ref breaking them up) thought so. Be honest, Holgate needed a distraction as he was going to be sent off, so he played the racism card and he played it from the bottom of the pack. Cynical and despicable. And to put a ****ing cherry on the top of this turd pie, Bernard Ousely, who presumably has never seen Bobby, jumped in and insisted that Bobby admit what he did and apologise and be educated about white (!) players using that term to black players.
