Played poorly first half. Second half much improved. Probably the Diaz's poorest game so far he never really got into it. I suspect the fact Salah did not start meant there was less space for the front three. When Salah plays teams tend to concentrate on marking him leaving more space for others. A good win, but if us and City win all our games it still boils down to the City game to decide the title, but I suspect there will be a few ups and downs before we get to that point.
HOLD THE BALL UP YOU ****ING IDIOT. TRY PASSING IT TO ANOTHER PLAYER ON YOUR TEAM. Just incase he's a bit deaf
I tell you, a tap in like that is never going to win goal of the season, but that little touch to squeeze it under ramshackle is much more difficult than swinging a foot at it from 30 yards
Alright lads Thought we played fairly well in the first-half and more than held our own. We obviously didn't create a bucketload of chances, but we never were going to against a team of your calibre. Odegaard really should have scored from the position he was in, but fair play to Alisson. World-class goalkeeper. We had other moments where I felt we looked a bit threatening, but Fabinho (who for me is the best DM in the world) was relentlessly snuffing out any danger. We started the second half too jittery. Cedric got beaten too easily and Ramsdale should never have let Jota's shot in from that angle. Really shoddy goalkeeping from a player who's performed very well for us on the whole this season. Our defence was very jittery for the second goal. We were chaotically booting the ball around aimlessly and didn't clear our lines properly. Gabriel should have followed Firmino's run. Before you know it, 2-0 and it knocked the stuffing out of us. Unfortunately for us, you guys are a class above and it showed tonight. We are still very early in our development of where we want to be and we have lots of players who've never been in this situation before (being favourites for 4th with a young side). In contrast, you guys have an experienced side with seasoned winners and a world-class manager. No shame in losing to you and I don't think we disgraced ourselves tonight. I think if we played like that against most teams in the league, we'd probably win. But there are levels to this game and, as you displayed tonight, we have a long way to go if we want to reach the level you and City are operating at. Well played. Good luck for the rest of the season
I will say, first half at least, Arsenal looked like a top 4 team and deserves to be in CL. As frequently happens when we have a bad first half, Klopps turns us around for the second half. I think the real big moment for us though was Allison's save after the big goof we had. If we had conceded then I could see Arsenal running riot over us. Being all square gave us a chance to build.
Think the last 15 games sun up arsenal at the moment. you can beat the mediocre teams in the league because you have a bunch of players who actually put some effort in with sprinkles of quality up top in saka martinelli smith rowe. But when come up against the best teams, just lack that bit of confidence and belief. Played well in first half without really doing much while we were poor but could have gone in 1-0 and then when the big chances came quality showed. Think you’ll walk 4th as better team compared to spurs and United though. Arteta got you in good form, get a decent central striker, a new midfielder to replace Xhaka and maybe new full back and should be top 4 favs ahead for next season.
It was poor from Ramsdale. Martinelli is a seriously good player though, and you should make 4th easily.
I hope you're right, but as I said, because a lot of these players have never been (nor were probably expected to be) in the driving seat for that coveted 4th spot, I don't know how they'll deal with the pressure now that it's crunch time. We lost to City at the start of January and went on a terrible run for a few games. We can't let that happen again. If we win at Villa Park on Saturday (another tricky game), I'll be a lot more confident of our chances. But right now, I'm still unsure about the maturity of this Arsenal side.
That's another thing Firmino brings to the team - he's just so cheeky. I'd love to see a compilation of all his crazy goals. Another one tonight.
Think Diaz is knackered , he's put his all into every game he's played but still getting use to prem pace. Next season he's going to be much better.
