I ****ing hate 12-45 kick offs.It means the coach will have to pick me up between 4-30am and 5-00am The only good news is i'll be home by 9-00pm so i can go for a pint when i get home
From the press conference today. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/injury-boost-for-arsenal-trip Meanwhile, Dalglish has played down any suggestion this could be an ideal opportunity for Liverpool to record their first win at the Emirates. Arsenal sold captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona this week and speculation continues regarding the future of Samir Nasir, while Alex Song and Gervinho will be unavailable for the Reds' visit due to suspension. "I don't know how they're going to react - it's up to us to know how we will react," said Dalglish. "We can control what we do and we can compete against them, and that's what we've got to do. "Maybe we're due for a win (at the Emirates). Arsenal have been most football fans' second team. They've been very entertaining to watch, but unfortunately for them they've not won anything for six years, which is the monkey they'd love to get off their back.
As much as Arsenal have weakened I still can't see Liverpool winning here... this match has draw written all over it. I can see both teams going all out though. The result will be inconclusive.
aren't arsenal fans the LEAST bit worried? I just read though some stuff on here... either wneger is lying or the club has no money. thats is my conclusion. You reported a 50mil profit before tax, you take in the guts of 60-70million in transfers... yet you don't spend anything and see your team get weaker year on year. 2004 is a long time ago now i can tell you! Or it it just beacuse wenger no longer has unlimted access to the best of french young talents seeing as they aren't much good any more either? hmmmm..... I'm on record saying this will be a tight game and arsenal can still field a quality front 3 and back line plus have a fairly decent mdfiled 3 too boot. Thats this game. over 38 games you must be worried about 4th.... have to be...
Not remotely worried about getting top 4. We have been doing it since 1995 and i expect that to continue.
Nor I am... I just don't Liverpool or Spurs have what it takes to overhaul us... Liverpool have made numerous signings which will take time to gel while Spurs are not as strong IMO as they were 2 seasons back. I can see us battling for 3/ 4 with Man City. The top two will be as usual: Man U followed by Chelsea.
All records come to an end though, just like our title winning years. Although I would hope to see Man City or Chelsea drop out of the top 4 at the expense of Liverpool and Arsenal.
I agree with what you're saying there... I'm not a fan of Liverpool but I would welcome you guys back into the top 4 if it meant the money grabbing clubs would drop out. Unfortunately that's not likely... being an Arsenal fan holding out for something positive I would most likely think that Arsenal would make top four this season at Liverpool's expense. I know your post was directed at afctw, just voicing my opinion.
Firstly, the one thing we have to avoid is complacency, however I don't think the Liverpool players read the newspapers, because the opinion changes like the weather. Secondly on paper, we should take Arsenal apart and thats not exaggerating, as their squad is at its weakest it has been in god knows how long, we may not get a better opportunity to lay down a marker. However football isn't won on paper, Man City on paper should have won the league last season because on paper they had the best squad and on paper they should have destroyed us at Anfield. They didn't win the league, and it was us that destroyed them at Anfield. Liverpool need to be careful of a sting, we far far stronger at the moment than Arsenal, but sometimes teams are at their most dangerous when they are down. If we knock them down we have to ensure we have hit them hard enough that they are unable to get back up.
I hope it stays fine for you lads then... cos to be honest 2 seasons ago i was hoping for a bit of luck with tirres and gerrard so we'd be ok and we finsihed 7th. Its all about beleif and morale now, if arsenal can grind out some results, get some football going they can indeed finish 4th but if you lose confidnece (example utd hammer you) then the pressure could come on and it could all fall apart. Its all down to RVP at this point. thats waht i think anyway... keep him fit and you can put out a team with a solid enough defense and the capacity to get goals. This is the impondrable. have you bhad your lads distracted and have you got the focus? Liverpool have their team, no disctractions, the only question is is that team good enough and is it fit enough right now. I still call this one as a draw.
Still looks like a draw to me, unfortunately. By coincidence, I'm in London this weekend, anyone suggest a good pub where a nice friendly scouser can watch the game? I'm staying by Hampstead Heath but don't mind travelling a bit to find a decent one.
Im not being over confidant but I see a 3-1 win, with Arsenals team problems and us having another weeks training I think we will be too good for them.
The way Arsenal is at the moment with losing key players, players getting bans, injuries...... If we are not thinking of or are not going for the win, then kiss 4th goodbye. Have to have a winners mentality right now, not we are going to the Emirates, they are still a good side, etc. Go with caution that they are a good side, but you have to have the utmost confidence you are going in to make a statement that 4th is ours and we are going for it.
