I was elaborating; when his foot makes contact with the back of the ball is when he starts "Playing the ball". Looked at it again on youtube, is off side, but it is a lot tighter than it looked on the TV.
I would have to say that whatever way you look at that, it's offside. I'm happy it went for us though as Aubemeyang got a goal on his debut. But if that was a goal that had gone against us, we'd be screaming about the injustice of it to be honest.
Missed the game today but it looks like Mkhitarian had a blinder. Great to see Auba score on his debut.
I haven't seen us look that fluid in quite a while. Both Mkhi and Auba look class and perfect Wenger type players. Without the new management changes, I doubt they would have come in this Jan window. Ironically, it's a decision that Wenger wasn't responsible for or even wanted, that will give him his best chance of getting top 4. If only we made these changes in the past then we may have won a title or 2. Getting back to the game, it looked like the two new players had been playing with us for ages. At last Ozil has the quality to link up front with. I can only see us get more goals with those guys playing. I just hope Laca is part of it too.
Laca will get games. He will play Europa. I would like to see what we are like with a 2 up top. Ozil or Mhiki behind them. Our defensive side of the game is such a worry.
The defensive side of our game will sort itself out when our midfield sorts itself out. We give up too many goals to turnovers in the midfield. We need to handle the press better and that means playing longer passes out of defence sometimes. Having one more creative playmaker to aim for, is going to help immensely.
Our Chief Scout Mislintat originally from B Dortmund was behind these transfers. A lot of changes happening behind the scenes which is reducing Wengers powers. Wenger is also a major critic of January windows and rarely gets any proper business done let alone bring in two marquee players. Let's just say they don't see eye to eye but he took the lead on the latest round of transfers that rumours say Wenger didn't like too much. Without Mislintat both these wouldn' have happened.
Ultimately it's that and their track record that you go by. There is a direct correation between the new man coming in and us getting these players. No Arsenal fan would have expected this transfer window to happen. There is a major shift from Wengers old transfer method to this new one.
Although Wenger did say he had hoped for even more to happen during the window. (But I agree it was the backroom staff that pushed for the transfers we did). I get the feeling we will have a big summer transfer window.
Our MF indiscipline was on display where Xhaka and Ozil got in each other's way in the Everton box. What Xhaka was doing there, only he and Wenger know!
It's a major shift in the club reverting to something that was in Wenger's earlier days. The management got lazy from the profit Wenger was making for the club and failed to have a proper system in place to keep him on his toes. I have a lot more confidence that with the new guys in, they will make the most of our transfer windows and address squad weaknesses appropriately. They made a big statement this Jan window.
