After watching Justin Whittle and Paul Musslewhite collide with each other in the box and Carl Lightbourne nick it around them both and score an open gaol for macclesfield at boothferry park to then be playing in europe years later is unbelievable, any fans that thinks its a hindrance and would rather stay in the premiership and have a mid table finish next season rather than playing in europe are quite frankly not fans. I'll be coming home from new zealand just in time for the new season and i cant wait to be jetting around europe watching us play

I have said before that I don't give a **** about the EL, as we were not safe, I was pissed off at threads that were excited by our rivals beating Everton so that we could get into Europe as runners up, but as long as were in Europe.... Now I believe we are safe, unless some extremely bizarre results got us relegated, I think it'll be a nice little jolly, hopefully we'll be going into the group stages as Cup Winners, in the groups or should we qualify for the knockouts, I can see it being one of those that get shown on ITV4 or C5 & there being a handful of supporters jumping up & down at the away games. I can also see it affecting our PL performances, but as many have said, it is something that most of us never dreamed of. When Duffen said about it after we got off to our flying start many believed it & thought we could finish 6th or 7th & get in that way. After all we'd just beaten Arsenal & Spurs away. However it turned into a season of struggle & we avoided relegation by the skin of our teeth.
I also know that whatever people say now, including those that say they want to see City in Europe & don't care if we finish bottom of the PL with 0 points, those same people will be coming on here to complain about our PL form. They'll mention just how useless Bruce is & why are we so **** losing to Burnley, Sun'lan, other promoted teams, it's embarrassing we have 0 points etc. I know this as they were also the ones slating Hull City on Saturday against Fulham when we were 2-0 down.
So my final point is that I can now relax & look forward to Hull City more than likely in Europe next season, I can look forward to Hull City in the FA Cup Final this season & still in the PL next season. I hope all 3 are successful but ultimately staying in the PL has to be the most important next season, it is the old 'bread & butter,' where we can then have a chance to improve on this season & maybe get into Europe on a regular basis.
This is what we should be looking for. Although we would have a chance of winning the EL, it is less likely than most things, so let's not set our sights too high. Let's hope we finish around 12th & have another shot at the PL again, if we can get higher then great but we have to set our sights accordingly. We can build slowly or throw everything into a crazy season & put us back a lot of years, what is that everyone wants? For me, I want the slow build, where beating Liverpool isn't a one off, where Man Utd & Chelski come to Hull City looking to get a point, where the relegation favourites fear a battering on their home grounds let alone the KC.
The Future is Bright, the future is Black & Amber!

Newcastle's season ended in about December. They need a massive clear out to get rid of some serious deadwood, lazy, bottle less, apathetic players.

I would be ashamed to be a Newcastle fan based on their current squad because they have been sat on a beach for the summer for about 5 months and are so apathetic.

Some how year after year with the odd exception, Newcastle just seem to get **** on with one embarrassing situation after another. Freddie Shepard, Mike Ashely, Wonga, Team mates fighting each other, Bellamy Vs Shearer, Kinnear, Pardew and his crazy antics and not replacing decent players when they leave.

Newcastle must be one of the biggest clubs in Europe that constantly under perform or have the most erratic form. That clubs has so much wasted potential and it must pain them to watch teams like Southampton be a much smaller club yet wipe the floor with them in every department almost.

Newcastle need a change of everything including Chairman but the manager would be the priority for me and Pardew needs to go. He has performed wonders within the limitations but that club needs new and fresh ideas and they need a quality and professional manager who doesn't do stupid things.

I predict Laudraup, Moyes or even Steve Bruce could be their next manager.
