The comment from Jayram you replied to was from September 8th, HH! Thankfully, Saliba and Timber are fine, and Hincapie is back too, it's just White who can't escape his injuries.
Mosquera can play RB so he can provide Timber with some rest. We've still got MLS, Cala, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie, Timber and Mosquera fit at the moment. 7 players rotating for four positions is grand.
Have mercy LOOOL !!! Not gonna lie, I was fuming, that level of medical incompetence was too much for me !!
Havertz and Jesus expected back within a month. Odegaard could also be back by th next International break.
Our attacking players when all fit is a pretty special group. Saka Havertz Gyokeres Jesus Martinelli Madueke Trossard Nwaneri Eze Odegaard
+ Dowman Get rid of Trossard, Jesus and Martinelli and replace with Semenyo. 9 players for four positions, but Eze and Odegaard can also play #8. Bosh.
Martinelli is better than Semenyo. No way we should sell him. I would sell Trossard and possibly Jesus.. and replace with Julian Alvarez.
Surprised to see Gabriel Jesus trained today. Not with the rest of the team but training with the ball again. Soo probably only a couple of weeks away.
Soo much cover for every position. Just need to get Madueki, Odegaard and Havertz back fit and we're set. CF - Gyokeres / Havertz / Jesus / Merino LWF - Martinelli / Trossard / Eze RWF - Saka / Madueki / Nwaneri/ Dowman AMF - Odegaard / Eze / Havertz / Nwaneri CM - Rice / Merino / Havertz / Eze DM - Zubimendi / Noorgard / Rice LB - Calafiori / Lewis-Skelly / Timber LCB - Gabriel / Calafiori / Hincape RCB - Saliba / Mosquera / White RB - Timber / White / Mosquera GK - Raya / Kepa
I'd forgotten Dowman - yes even better. Martinelli is probably our best player this season. Jesus is a fantastic player - his injury record means he probably does need to be sold, but if he could ever stay fit, he's great... something like 46 goal contributions in just 5,500 minutes of football which is a rate right up there with the best we've seen at the Emirates. Trossard is player that can have an impact at important moments, so I would keep him too. The challenge is going to be keeping all these players happy.
Gyokeres not in training ahead of the Slavia game. Kepa is missing too. No sign of Martinelli. Zubimendi is there, but he misses the Slavia match through suspension. So that's Kepa, Gyokeres, Martinelli, Havertz, Odegaard, Jesus, Madueke all missing right now... I know it may have gone under the radar a bit this season due to our results, but we've had quite a lot of injuries in the opening quarter of the season. We need to get a handle this quickly because we will need these players to be ready during crunch time!
Team for Slavia: Raya White Hincapie Saliba - off after 55 mins Lewis-Skelly Norgaard Merino Saka - off after 55 mins Nwaneri Dowman Trossard - off after 55 mins Team for Sunderland: Raya Timber Gabriel Saliba Calafiori Rice Zubimendi Saka Eze Trossard Gyokeres/Martinelli
This isn't ideal news, but could have been worse. Deep down, I didn't expect Gyokeres to be available for the Sunderland game, but the fact he's expected to be back for the NLD after the break means his current injury isn't as serious as feared.
Suggesting possible hamstring according to BBC. Hopefully 2 - 3 weeks max! still not ideal. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/ckgkj724kk8o
2-3 weeks would be a grade 1 hamstring injury. That's the best case scenario assuming that it is a hamstring injury. Let's say for argument's sake he's not fit in time for that Spurs game. I think part of my worry is, even if Havertz, Odegaard, Madueke and Martinelli are all back, they be rusty and won't have much match sharpness. So can we really rely on them to hit the ground running when they're back? It's unlikely. It's insane that it's taken 10 weeks into the season to decimate our attack.
