According to The Fail, he wants £300,000 pw to sign a new contract.

Seems like nobody else wants him though, so good luck!...

Vardy and Mahrez double swoop in the summer for Wenger?
    What do ya think?
If wenger is still interested in Vardy he will probably get him cheaper now, as he is over 30.
He could probably get both for about £50-60m.
£20m for Vardy and £30-40m for Mahrez.
    Wouldn't be a bad shout.

I know some people would have their reservations with Vardy, but its not like there are tons of great strikers available who will be willing to go to Arsenal.
Griezemann is eyeing up Man United, Lukaku is likely to come back to us. Costa will be buggering off to the Far East (not that they'd want him anyway, nor would we be likely to sell him to Arsenal).
The two guys have a decent playing history together and seem to know each others games.
Wouldn't be a bad shout, especially if Sanchez leaves.
They are both proven PL winners after all.

That's a good shout Bope..this 30 over the hill thing is a bit over thought nowadays. Defoe and Ibra still banging them in at the highest level to some degree or another and they are both mid 30's.

Let's hope we don't go for Lukaku he wasn't good enough when we sold him and he's not good enough now.

Yup, Drogba won a golden boot at 32 as well.

If Wenger stays, he will need to put start spending some cash to prove he is serious.
Signing 2 Premier League winners wouldn't be a bad start. Especially since he could probably get them both for the same price they will get for Sanchez.
Two birds with one stone, for a 0 net spend.....

To be fair, he was good enough, he just wasnt going to get games ahead of Costa, and he is twice the player now that he was then.
If Costa goes, we could do worse. Depends what Everton ask for him.

Great for Everton but not Chelsea standard. Griezman or Belloti for me.

Don't agree to be honest mate.
Logic dictates if he can grab 20+ goals a season with Everton, with service from the likes of Fabregas, Hazard and Willian, he should be banging them in.

Mahrez is the bestest / most attackingest MF player ... in the world. Ever.
Therefore Barca or get Real Madrid will activate the 10bn release clause
figure in his contract and buy him.

Will Kroenke sanction Wenger putting in a bid of 10bn + 1 ?? Doubt it.

Spurlock and Dier Hard like this.

  11. tbf that won't be the first or last time you've caught Skiddy talking bollocks, Bodi. He soon gets stretched on his basic footy knowledge, and then he has no where else to go, so merely keeps going over the same old ****e.

By the way, good call on the Vardy/Mahrez double-swoop for Arsenal. I think those two would jump ship in an instant. Sure, Arsenal is heading for a spot of turbulence, but I suspect that they'll weather their particular storm far better than Leicester will weather theirs.

I think both players would definitely improve Arsenal.

Without Vardy/Mahrez, Leicester could well struggle to survive in the Prem for another season - it depends on how the new boys fare, I suppose. Still, you can't make an omelette without breaking a couple of eggs, so...

    Most attackingest <laugh>

Seriously though, Arsenal could do a lot worse than sign him and Vardy.
They obviously have a connection as players, and under the right set up they can get plenty of goals.
Whether or not Wenger is the right set up is another matter.....but I would be tempted if I were Arsenal.
Like I said, they are two PL winners, and thats more than Arsenal currently have in their side.

    Indeed.
They would be mad to stay at leicester for another season.
Leicester will be competing for a Europa spot next season at best, and struggling in the lower midtable/relegation battle at worst, so going to Arsenal, where they will earn more money and could possibly keep themselves in the CL (If Arsenal qualify), would be seen as a smart move.
Not sure Real or Barca need or want Mahrez either.

Like I rinsed you earlier Tiny:emoticon-0136-giggl as I've stated anybody who doesn't agree with you or the BBC gossip column gets the Tiny scowl of numpty contempt. I personally don't think his good enough even though the lads improved. Good enough for you Spuds? For sure but again unlikely as your shyster A) won't pay the required £65 million or his wages thats why you've won fcuk all of any note for 56 years.

At Chelsea we only buy world class forwards so sadly Lukaku need not apply.

  17. I don't know why I am even attempting this, given your basic intellect, but here goes nothing...

The point that Bodi was trying to make is that should Costa leave your club, you will be looking for a decent Prem striker. Sure, there are a lot of big names across Europe - there always are - but (a) there is no guarantee they will want to move to Chelsea (even assuming that the owner club will sell to you), and (b) even if they are prepared to move to Chelsea, there is no guarantee that they will be able to survive in the Prem without bedding-in for two or three seasons. Lukaku has proven his worth in the Prem, and would be a great addition to any side.

If you lose Costa, a player like Lukaku would start every game for you.

Spurs is a different case. We have Kane, Janssen, and Son. Lukaku would, at most, sit on our bench behind Kane, and would not be guaranteed regular first team Prem football, unlike at Chelsea (in the event that Costa leaves your club). I cannot imagine that that would be attractive to a player of Lukaku's abilities.

That was the point that Bodi was trying to make to you (IF COSTA LEAVES). Try reading what people write, cloth-ears, before wading in with your ill-informed drivel, next time.

    Don't thank me.

Hiag has a point. Lukaku is a proven PL striker. Bringing one in from another league always carries a risk that they won't adapt to the PL.

However, how would Lukaku fair against top European defenses? I believe his record against the top PL clubs is not to swift?
