afcftw, I get what you are saying in regards to CL qualification being good for the clubs finances. I just, as a football fan, find it hard to get jazzed over qualifying for a tournament because I know it will "be good for my clubs finances". I really couldnt care less about my clubs finances (i know its easy for me to say that as a Chelsea fan, but I felt the same pre Roman).
As a fan, I want my team to get into CL so that they can play the likes of Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. Seeing those teams at the Lane are what it's all about for me - even if it is a bit of a distant dream at the moment. And next time Real come can they please not be so rude as to give us a good kicking. They need to behave like the Milan teams and roll over.
Since the club have already gone to the effort of preparing the contract a gentleman would just sign it rather than wait until after the cup just to try to claim larger bonuses
I've already answered you in my post. "The CL is important to the club from a financial perspective, both in terms of the income it directly generates (prize and tv money) and indirectly generates (sponsorship deals dependant on CL participation), but also in international coverage (which helps maintain and generate fan base), ability to attract players and most importantly the joy we get as fans watching our team go up against the best teams in europe each season."
......and lose. I know im taking the piss somewhat and you have had some decent results before but this is another area where Wengers lack of tactical nous lets you down year after year. He doesnt seem to change his tactics.....ever....no matter who you are playing. He doesnt seem to grasp that you cant play the same way against the every team. Like Stoke and Barcelona. He will set your team up identically to play both sides. If Stoke try to play you at football, they will get passed to death so get physical and try rough house you, and you have to rely on the superior skill of your lightweight players to win the game. Against Barca, they play a similar way but are better at it, so its suicide. Not wumming, just genuinely dont see this man taking you forward. Certainly cannot see Arsenal becoming Londons second EC Winners whilst he is in charge.
Nearly as presumptuous as your own club were when letters were sent out to local residents advising them of road closures for your victory parade when you won the PL & CL
I think thats required by law. To give notice..... Its not like we did an open topped bus for our victory 4 games before the end of the season, like some other team who finished second
In europe we have seen different more defensive tactics employed depending on the opposition and the desired result. We've also had some fantastic european nights. Even in recent years beating Barca, beating Milan 3-0, being the only team to beat Bayern at there ground last season. Our journey through the group of death this year. That's what it's about. The enjoyment of european nights. Theres something special about the CL and they are the games i look forward to most each season. I think its a privledge lots of fans take for granted. Only one team can win it each year but fans of all sorts of clubstake great enjoyment in watching there teams in the competition. We've come close and we know realistically we have been way off the CL in the last couple of years but just because we haven't won it yet doesn't take away the gloss of the competition and the greatnights of football it brings.
They spend well over £130m PER YEAR on wages so it is more likely to be close to £1 BILLION in wages since they last won a trophy
The £130million Arsenal spend on wages is divided amongst 500 full time and 800 part time employees.Arsenal do not, show the figure for players wages

Funny neither of those are an 'open topped bus' which is what I was asking. Now if you can find the open topped bus parade please post the link
**** me...how much do you lot pay your canteen staff, stewards, programme sellers and cleaners? you pay bendtner £60,000 per week ... and have done for years...kind of suggests you got a high wage bill
So you are saying goons have a small club mentality like Wigan , but charge the fans exorbitant ticket prices Actually Wigan have won a cup already in the very recent past
