Read above PNP, the jist of my comment is that we've made two massive mistakes in our sacking of managers, the rest quite frankly deserved it! Also, Mourinho was a mutual resignation due to a bust up, nothing to do with Roman's trigger finger!
Oh, come on, Drogs! We all know that Abramovich got shot of him because he wanted you to play more stylish football. Not sure how he thought bringing in Avram Grant was going to help with that, though.
Just because it didn't work, doesn't mean that's not what he was trying to do! He obviously felt that the man's enormous charisma would push the team forward in a previously unknown display of attacking prowess and flair.
How many managers go out of their way to declare interest in a player on their club's website? http://www.manutd.com/en/Tour2012Te...rguson-confirms-interest-in-lucas-moura.aspx# Hopefully this will prompt another team to outbid them and nick the player from under SAF's nose.
Among the things on his CV: Crowd-incitement, being a member of the player's clique, diving, sticking the boot into departing managers he and his mates didn't like, being integral to the "machine-gunning" tactic, not following orders of managers he didn't like (David Luiz said as much), refusing to make way for the next generation, and that all-day drinking and banter session on 12th September 2001 hardly endeared him much. As for Cahill's wages, he agreed on a "mere" £80k per week, which is double what he was getting at Bolton.
Ohhhh ok so you read the Daily Mail. Seriously, people need to stop believing what they wish to be true in the media. 'refusing to make way for the next generation' was the most ridiculous statement by the way.
I don't read the Daily Mail - in fact, I take that as an insult and would appreciate a retraction. Couldn't you have called me a child molester instead? Also, Villas-Boas said what Cahill's wage demands were during the negotiations, so that's not paper talk - that's what your manager said to the press. How is it ridiculous to say he wouldn't make way? That was what Villas-Boas was brought in for, but rather than step aside gradually he kicked up a fuss, aided by Terry in his corner, to get back into the starting line-up. Lampard and Essien are the players that Chelsea need to replace, but whilst Essien is gradually being replaced by Meireles, Romeu and Ramires (I would've added Mikel, but just couldn't...), Lampard isn't budging. It's similar to Beckham's hogging of his place in the England team when it was clear he needed to have a long-term replacement lined-up but they weren't going to get their chance.
Ok. I retract! The things you say were all published in bad light by those rotten cretins though. I believe AVB merely said 'we are miles apart with regard to personal terms'. I find it hard to believe that he announced the exact amount Cahill was holding out for and I doubt the club just caved into Cahill's original demands. Lampard didn't kick up a fuss, he was treated (like many others) badly by AVB. Lampard still has it and it was foolish to leave him out of the tie against Napoli, you are again basing all this on propaganda rather than logical thought.
The problem is with Chelsea or Chelsea players good news never makes news. What Lampard did was stupid but he was clearly under the influence of alcohol. We've all said and done stupid things when drunk it was just a massive overreaction by the media who fed off the public outrage of 9/11 at the time. In the same way they alienated Islam they wanted to do the same with those players. I mean Lampard was about 22 at the time and Morris/Terry even younger. I can't imagine what it must be like losing your Mum at 59 (only about 7 years older than my mum now) then having to heavily contribute in the biggest games of your career. When I lose a parent or even grandparent (God Forbid) Uni/Work whatever won't be seeing for a week at least. Not to mention his name dragged though the gutter by the press regarding his split on the day of his mums anniversary and then completely making a tit of the guy on the radio station. This has nothing to do with recent events but I have always held Lampard in much higher regard than JT. I understand the hatred for JT bu never got why Lampard gets so much as well if not more
Wouldn't that be sweet? Someone on here was proposing we all go and find journalist friends to make exit rumours for United. How about Rooney to United of Manchester?
Would genuinely be a good signing, and nearly guaranteed first team football too. Do we know whether he prefers playing in a 2 or as a sole striker?
That could be moot. He might end up being our only senior striker should this made up rumour become true
He plays 4-3-3 for Mexico, 4-4-2 for MUPLC, and seems at home in either - if we play a system like AVB's at Porto, he'd probably be in the middle with VDV on one side and NEW STRIKER (Ade?) on the other.
I thought VDV hated the wings? Or is it just one side? What about Bale on the Left, Ade (hopefully) on the right, and Hernandez in the centre?
