I agree in part, the one pound extra bid was a bit unwise in my opinion. It just looks like it's trying to take the piss. We should have bid 41m. But I disagree with you over Mata and Wenger has said that we are trying to sign other players too, so it doesn't really add up to support your argument. That said, since PHW ousted David Dein, we have lacked a top notch negotiator who can get the man we want.

Is anyone else enjoying the line from rodgers now that Liverpool is an institution and nobody has the right to disrespect it so Luis Suarez should apologise? As he didn't have that attitude towards Swansea last season we can only surmise that in his eyes an individual can treat a club how the hell he likes provided it's not regarded as a global institution. I hope he remembers that in a few year's time when he has been completely forgotten and the TV companies laugh and point at him and banks refuse to lend him any money as he's not "iconic"
Didn't seem that important to the club when Suarez was dragging their name through the mud these last 18 months - i.e before expressing a desire to leave. So basically Brendan, wanting to leave is more disrespectful than racism, biting and cheating? You can guarantee all will be forgotten as soon as he scores a couple of goals for them though. Amazing how principles go out the window when it's a top player at fault. Can you imagine what would have happened if all Suarez's 'actions' had been carried out by Downing or Henderson?!?!?
