We are in a select minority, though.

£12 million UP FRONT rising to £15 million according to Saints fan and PA reporter Simon Peach.

    Incredible business from Saints.

I respect Simon a lot, so I wouldn't be shocked if that turns out to be true - and if it is, then WOW!

Something tells me though, that we'll never know the exact arrangements.

That's stunning, TBH Arsenal have been conned if that's true. I have a feeling there is a little bit of arrogance involved from Arsenal, that they wouldn't take no for an answer from us, so we just took the p*** with the fee

If (and it's still an if as nothing has happened yet) we sign AOC then that's two players we've signed from you in years. Hardly constant. As I see it you've sold us a talented youth player (Theo) for good money and both clubs have a good relationship. If we didn't you'd not have got Shea on loan. The 'bleating' mentioned elsewhere is down to having to endure 4 seasons of the same cr*p from Barca about Cesc. We get it, they want him and he'd like to go. It's fecking tiresome now for every football fan out there.

Meh, I'm not stupid, I know how annoying it would be to lose a talented player to a 'bigger' club but don't delude yourself that you're not complicit yourselves. Do you think other clubs are happy when you take their players? I can assure you they're not.

Anyway, nothing has happened yet so how about you keep him and we can go and use our money for somebody we actually need...

^You can't bring Shea in to this, he was emergency loan and didn't play once..?

I am 54 and I don't care a rats arse. I want him to stay, and feel his long term development is best served by staying with us and playing regular football for a great team in a competitive league. However, if his dad insists that he leave for Arsenal and Alex also wants to leave, then I trust NC to get a good deal from a position of strength rather than give in because we NEED the money like L**e, and I trust NA to spend it wisely on players that want to be here and can see further than the bling on offer from a team who will genuinely struggle (not sour grapes from me really) to stay in the top 4 next season.

Wait wait... why are some of us starting an argument with Arsenal fans over this? What are they meant to do?! And similarly, what is Arsene meant to do? "Oh look, a great young prospect! Let's sign him! Oh wait, actually, that wouldn't be fair. Let's not negotiate a deal which has to be accepted by both sides so seen by all as a good deal, and leave him alone rather than pick someone up who may be important to us in the future." No, Arsenal aren't super villains in this, and nor are Arsenal fans.

The Fabregas saga has been going on for years now. Don't the reporters get bored of writing the same thing every week?!

I agree, it's not like Arsenal have stolen him whilst giving us two fingers, they've given us what sounds like an excellent fee, Chamberlain gets to go where he wants and Arsenal have got themselves an excellent prospect. We can easily find a replacement and more with that money.
I wish I could believe that he'd be better here, but it can't be bad for him to be training with Fabregas and Van Persie every week even if he isn't playing?
I just can't wait now for the day I can support him again, but this time wearing an england shirt

We will happily let you have Chamberlain if you could send us Van Persie or even Vermaelen

ha ha, quality. Liking your stlye. I too hate it when people bring facts into arguements.

Good luck to him and cheers for the wheel barrow full of cash. Saints fans should be happy a few years ago this money would have disapeared into one of Rupert Lowes off shore account. At least we know it will be going to good use.... A Swiss account ;)
