Is there a point when we all work out that we are actually a low rent club? Newcastle is no hotbed of riches nor is it the lifeblood of the UK economy. There is no chance of us producing a league winning team. When is having an established premier league club enough?

Wenger is going to spend now that they've all but qualified for the CL, he's an old fox.

Anyone think Cabs will play saturday? i'd be quite surprised. But if he doesn't I don't care to see him again anyway.

GFN France think Arsenal have responded with a second offer of £15million for Cabaye, whilst negotiations have begun with PSG who, it is believed, are willing to pay £20million:

    Get French Football ‏@GFN_France 2h

We believe that Arsenal's second offer is €17.5m for Yohan Cabaye as we said yesterday. #AFC #NUFC

PSG are understood to have begun negotiations with Newcastle for Yohan Cabaye but no clear offer made yet we understand. #PSG

The Independent believe that PSG are willing to pay up to €23.5m for Yohan Cabaye and discussions are ongoing. #PSG #AFC #NUFC

I honestly think he will go to PSG. In some respects Arsenal have done us a favour because their interest raises Cabayes price.

If we get £20 million thats fecking epic and we can reinvest in some good players who want to play.

I do also believe that the club will reinvest the money.

Apparently PSG have now offered 12 mill. Do the French not understand what a Mike Ashley is?

Le10Sport: Paris Saint-Germain seeking a double transfer for Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy. There is contact, but no offer yet .

Probably best for all parties. Call it £30m and be done with it.

It's now being reported that PSG want a double deal for Cabaye & Debuchy...would people sell for 30m (i've just made that price up)?

I'm thinking 20m for Cabaye and 10m for Debuchy.

Have to be honest but as bad as Debuchy has been I don't want to sell him, we've lost enough players and need to start building a team and adding 2 or 3 tops each summer. If we loe both we then need 4 players minimum and we just won't get them and if we do they will be foreign and will need 6 months to adapt an we start the whole process over again...

I would get rid of both for that much. Santon as RB - just need a back up RB.

It's good money and if we went out and got McCarthy, Rhodes, Ince, Will Hughes & and full back with prem experience I'd be happy. We could get those 5 for about 35m I reckon so with a small outlay we'd have padded out the squad with some good British quality that will only improve and only have to spend 5m...but we wouldn't. We'd get 3 players not the 4 we would need and none of them would have prem experience so all would need a bedding in period and we'd struggle massivley in the first 6 months.

3 players? I reckon it would still just be the two - the winger and the striker. And to be honest I'd probably be pleased with that at this point.

Let's say we sell Debuchy and Cabaye. Does anyone here have even the tiniest shred of confidence we'll get their replacements in in time???

If we can get £15 million for Cabaye, then I think that is great business. Has genuine class, but doesn't really have the fortitude to take games by the scruff of the neck or put a shift in when the going gets tough. Has burnt his bridges now.

Also, if we can get back what we paid for Debuchy, again, that would be great business. Just isn't cut out for the Prem and will undoubtedly be "unsettled" now Cabaye is off. Let them ride off hand in hand to PSG.

Will we get replacements? Would love us to get McCarthy and Hughes, but even if we didn't, I would love for us to show some faith in what we have in the squad. Put Santon right back and I guarantee he will improve defensively on his stronger side. Let Dummett or Haidara (who I really rate) stake a claim for the left back slot. And I hope for a speedy recovery for Raylor.....he is great to have in the squad and has a great set piece in him.

Anita can take Cabaye's place IMO. He is technically brilliant and can get stuck in. Think he has bags of ability and would like him to nail a starting spot. And then we can give Bigi more game time by having him be back up to Anita and Tiote. Maybe even Jonas as back up for defensive midfield and let Marveux be out left wing outlet (which I assume will be filled by Remy when fit.)

If we have funds already (£15 million for PEA, £8 million for Gomis) and we get in near £20 million for the love birds, I would love us to bring in McCarthy, Hughes, Rhodes and Ince. Can't see it, but it would be great.

If anyone paid £30 million for the pair, you would have to be a monumental idiot nott to sell.

You'd have to take 30m, that is crazy talk. Not that we would spend it but still..............
